So it was totally no strings attached? Thought there would be some sort of stipulation about reviewing it after install.

Na, they just sent it to me, no strings. I wanted the MPPK and just dont really feel like straying from OEM. I ordered the MPE a few days ago, so I’ll prob get the MPPK this Summer. The thing sells for like $600, so it’s worth something. If it sits around long enough I’ll try it out. But if someone else wants it at a huge discount from new...well....holla.

I think what it is, my wife drives the X5 around with the baby and stuff, and I don’t really want to take a chance of it leaving them stranded somewhere..
If it were MY daily, hell, I’d install and set it to max lol. |

I don't let my girl drive my X6. Too much curb rash on her Ghibli for me to consider letting her drive it. I'll put it to good use.

Totally agree. I'm also glad I didn't go with the CF rear diffuser. I'm digging how the gloss black vinyl and exhaust tips match. Once I get the gloss back roundel on. I'll be done with the rear. I'm a booty man so I had to start there
It's definitely a noticeable difference. I drove past a few people around town and goosed it a little bit and saw some heads turn. That never happened stock. Freeway cruising you don't really notice it unless you step on it a bit in low rpms or really get on it. No drone that I could discern in any mode. Around town it's actually quite noticeable in Eco mode since it keeps the rpms low. I like the sound, it's deep and throaty. In Comfort or Sport It's actually less noticeable since the revs are a bit higher. When you get on it, you definitely notice it though. Great burbles and turbo whistle. In any mode and driving scenario with the windows up, you know it's there but it's in no way obnoxious. Overall, I'm really happy with the sound and look and will echo all those before me that this is how the X5 with M-sport should sound from the factory. One other odd note is that the driver side tip on mine stuck out maybe a mm or two more than the right side right after install. I mentioned this to the installer (custom shop, not dealer) and he said he's noticed this with other MPE (for other BMWs, not X5) and to drive it a bit and see if the passenger side moves out a bit after its gone through some heat cycles. Sure enough the passenger side is now just about even with the driver side. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this immediately after install. I can be a bit OCD... Oh yah, it was $90 for the tips to be sandblasted and powdercoated. Well worth it IMO.

good to hear! I figured it would get a little louder after more miles. Anything else I can look out for?

I've got the Dinan Stage 1 piggy I really only drove it about 15 miles though and most of those miles with the stock exhaust in the trunk and bad traffic so I didn't get to really play around. I'll go do that tomorrow morning.

Ahhhh, that’s right. Yeah, once you get in ‘broke in’ you’ll really enjoy it. The only downside, you’ll have two dirty tips to clean now, haha.

IND Gloss black roundels on today. They were pricey for what they are but there is no more chrome on my car
