Congratulations. Had my X6 since Jan 15 and perfect. As for performance, once run-in, unless you are in Germany you will loose your licence quickly if not careful! If you ever get over to Germany you will find yourself giving up before the car gets to the limiter as it just piles it on, at any speed. It is also very deceptive at hiding the speed. My wife does not warn me, much in the X6, as it hides the speed. In her Mini JCW convertible, which is quick, she very quickly warns me as you feel the speed much more lower down and with less insulation. When I was in the UK with mine it was very limited by traffic and speed limits so very difficult to experience the full fat 50d!

Is that the Tracker Locate or the Trackstar trackerfit BMW approved version and did you have a preference ?

Also you forgot to mention the subscription which I assume if you haven't already got another £300 (3 year option)
Yes correct £299 3 year option

Assuming I can take mine to the dealer and get it fitted?

What's the name or the best option code?

I had a quick look on the BMW site so believe it's the CAT6 Trackstar option but I can check if you want.

You might want to take a look at Lojack. I don't know if it's available in your country.

Ontopic: Very nice car, love the color! Looks pretty bad ass with those wide tires. I've got 325/30/21 rear which suits the engine. Have fun with it. Make sure to test the launch control in remote quiet area! :-)

Beautiful machine! Congrats. But yes, get it protected. We've had GPS trackers on our cars since the late 90s.

Nope. Quite a different product. http://www.tracker.co.uk

Some insurance companies make it mandatory for X5 et al.

It's just a question I ask every time I hear some car was stolen or something. Just bad vibes or whatnot.

I was against the idea ,,,,,,but people 100% do it please to avoid a lot of stress of the unthinkable happens.
That said I have BMW tracking and Lojack (which is a third party solution that lets police trace my vehicle); didn't seem to lower my rates at all when I made this aware to the insurance company.

Congrats on the purchase, what a beast indeed. I wish we had access to these in NA. Those badges on the rear hatch have to go though!

Well the miles are racking up, 700 now, so pushed on a bit.

H O L Y. SHIT

This car seems to surge onwards after 100mph, it feel like a savage bolt of acceleration at speed. In gear acceleration and motorway overtaking is a breeze.

It's really pretty rapid in a straight line for 2 tonnes!

So close Mark!

Honestly after no test drive I'm astounded with the acceleration at the top end. My god that third turbo, or whatever happens up there, is magic!

Enjoy collection!

Initial thoughts... so much more refined than anything before!

i don't feel it is as huge as I expected (although it is!) - even the wife commented on that and she really doesn't like big cars.

Better pic...
