Hi,

I've had my Alpin white with black Dakota M-sport X5 for few weeks now. Amazing car, but I was not able to get my Sony Xperia M5 (I know you most of you probably have never heard about such a nice Android Marshmallow phone) working with my X5. Bluetooth streaming doesn't work neither does Apps. With some old Samsung I got them working, so the issue must relate to Android 6.x. Went to the dealer and they were luckily happy to change the USB universal car phone adapter to lightning version.

Ok, what I want to know is that has anyone got a new Iphone7 & got also BMW Apps at ConnectedDrive working? Like Spotify. If not I might need to get my son's 5S and make him unhappy...

I have a 40e and have gone thru hell an high water to get my iphone 6s Plus and 7 Pus working. There are a number of work arounds that provide half arse connection but nothing that is seamless like Samsung. Unfortunately iOS does not play well with BMW.

Hi, is it really so as I got my iPad, gen4, working well with the X5 .. So does this mean that I have to stay with the older Iphone...?

What kind of issues are you seeing? I just paired my wife's and my 7's and so far they both seem fine. Had one hiccup where only the phones worked through BT but the car wouldn't see them to stream music. Shut down the car and on restart all was fine again.

Been having this issue all day. First "pair" with iPhone 7 seemed to work, but it only held the Bluetooth connection for a few minutes before freezing. Since then I've turned Bluetooth off, had the car and the phone "forget this device," re-started just about everything and have the same issue. It even goes as far as freezing the display ('14 435i) on the song that's suppose to be playing or prohibiting me from selecting/de-selecting the Bluetooth check mark box. When I look to see the Bluetooth devices in settings it shows me devices in OTHER CARS on the road; unless the iPhone 7 comes preloaded with an "Alpine CD Changer"

Heading back to Apple to trade my 7 for a flip-phone.

I had the same issue with it freezing the one time it went wonky. It will get sorted I'm sure.

I paired my iP7 with my 2015 X5 this morning and BT connections worked well like streaming music.

Don't have an issue with my iphone 6 with 2017 X5 40E. Only thing I experience with the spotify app is that when I get back in my car after a while the song automatically picks up but is played at 2X speed. I have to close the app on the phone and restart the app to get normal working speed again. Apart from that everything works fine with ios10 + Idrive 5.0.

Mine started out fine too but got funky after a few starts and stops while running errands later in the day. Could be a rare thing but it really locked things up for a bit. I'm assuming the next update Apple pushes will cure it from happening again. Never had an issue with my 6. Must be 7 specific. My 7 does however, work flawlessly in my Ford pickup.

Hello all,

What happened today was that my car was at service for some rattle at BO speaker, but they told me it has to be re-programmed, there was a technical bulletin on that.

NOW also the Android streaming works on Android 6.x Marshmallow.

So should I still buy the apple phone, at least no hurry now..?

My iPhone 7 Plus and my wife's iPhone 7 work as well as our previous 6s' in our X3 and M3. Should I be concerned that we'll have issues in the X5? We did add CarPlay so it would be a real shame if that didn't work. Taking delivery in the next week or so

I'm still have issues. About 50% of the time the phone won't stream music and locks up the car's media screen. Hoping for an update from either BMW or Apple.

Update. It got to the point of no streaming from the iPhone 7. I notified my dealer in case they heard of any updates on BMW's end. I also signed into MyBMW and sent a message to BMW NA. The more of us that report this, the sooner it will get resolved. My dealer advised me to use a USB until one side or the other pushes an update. However, after two days of USB, my iPhone 7 got the new bug of "No Service" and had to be replaced. Not fun. I'm not sure if the two are connected but I'm going to err on the side of caution for a bit here. It's not a very nice feeling when your 80k car can't play nice with your $800 phone. First world problems for sure but everything is relative...

I'm picking up our 2017 X5 40e tomorrow afternoon so I will test it out with my iPhone 7 Plus and my wife's iPhone 7. Do you have CarPlay by any chance?
