Ambient Lighting Problem

So this is day 2 of actually driving my 2014 X5 5.0i. Today while driving at night I noticed that my Ambient Lighting located above between the driver and passenger interior lights is not turning blue despite being on the blue setting for all ambient lighting. It is stuck at white only for blue. When I change it to orange, it turns orange matching the rest of the orange ambient lighting. When I turn it to white, it turns white like the rest. However when I turn it to blue, everything goes blue except the top ambient lights; they remain white. Seems like I'm already having computer errors . Anyone else have this issue? I just bought my car this Wednesday night. Everything was working fine when I drove it home and when I drove the next morning briefly. Any feedback or help is appreciated. Otherwise, looks like I'll have to take it for service already.Thanks.

There was a service bulletin issued to address this. It's a result of over engineering.

Each light module has its own address on the car's bus. Sometimes they get out of sync.

Thank you, good sir . Gotta love having that warranty, lol. I'll get the dealer to fix it.

I haven't had a chance to take my car to BMW service yet for this. The issue still exists on my car. Might go this week to get it looked at.

There was an issue with the interior vent lighting not working on the outer sides of the vents... I guess this is the price you pay for having the first model year

Just an update for everyone. My car got serviced for my speaker issue and ambient lighting.

1) SPEAKERS: The scratchy defect is gone after the mid-range speaker was replaced. They are perfect now esp with AUX cable (this is the clearest of anything when hooked up to the phone compared to bluetooth).

2) AMBIENT LIGHTING: Turns out the top visor lights and the lights behind the driver and passenger seat can only turn ORANGE or WHITE. There is not BLUE setting for these lights, unfortunately.

I misunderstand your original post. I could've saved you a trip to the dealer. But yes, the upper lights can only do orange or white.

I thought you meant the upper lights on the doors and dash, not overhead.

All good, buddy. I had to get the speaker replaced anyway. It was all checked in the same trip. Thank you anyway . Just updating everyone since this was a concern in a different thread regarding the seat LEDs as well.
