Scratched tailgate against the wall
Rear right corner. Was obsessively careful with that tailgate since i got the car. Now a chunk of paint fell of from the bottom right corner that hit the wall. Should this be remedied or i just leave it be. I love the practicality of the tailgate beibg automated but this happened and i was really careful. Upset me so much, smthg like when you hear you scratched your rim.

Uh, that's sucks.
Unfortunately, touch up paint would be the easiest route. Unlike wheels, you can always take it off and get it repaired. Tailgate on the other hand, going to be much harder. Paint match, labor, etc.

I agree with R33, touch it up, since it sounds like it can be left be. Ideally it was not to the metal. I believe, factory paint is the best. Of course if it bothers you a lot then repaint it.
WRT to the hatch opening, mine twice was inadvertently opened from having two FOB's in my front pockets, now with the leather fob covers, no more issues. Also, before I had the tailgate setting as low, but after hitting my head often, I raised it but need to be careful with the raised height. |

She ain't pretty she just looks that way... x3 & x5:
For titanium silver, the arc was 1st scratch. Glad I did not send to shop as 4 months later some at Costco left me their marks, fortunate that it was same qtr panel. Last edited by barcelona; 10-22-2014 at 07:48 PM.. |
