I'm going to contact BC and see if I could order the coilovers with the a higher spring rate as that is what I did with my STI. I THINK it may help with bottoming out.

They offer the swift spring upgrade but I am concerned they will be way too stiff for you.

Yeah it is kind of a gamble. Wondering if a mix of higher spring rate with less dampening will allow more flexibility to try to dial in a lower ride with less chances of bottoming out. Just a thought.

1) have a comfortable ride 85% of the time, with the risk of bottoming out 15% of the time 2) have a rigid ride 97% of the time, with the risk of bottoming out 3% of the time. I am cartooning here, but I suppose it on your driving habits. I rarely go on the highway so I live with the risk and manage it.

FWIW, I just ordered the BC's with their factory spring rate recommendations but with the Swift Spring upgrade. 14k/12k.
Had a custom spring rate setup on my previous car and to classic_erik 's point, these setups take a lot of time and precision to dial it in. Intention for my setup was to have the stiffness in the spring so I can dial up the softness on the rebound a little. Let's see how this goes.

Are your coil overs fully maxed at this ride height? If not, how much lower do you think you could go (especially in the rear)? @lionyard Last edited by parthpatel1; 06-08-2021 at 06:29 PM.. |

Got my BC's on. Extreme low, 16kg/16kg spring rates. Sitting at 30" on all four corners.

Doesn't get much better than that. Although I will say - to have it lowered like you do you MUST have 22's. When you do, its the perfect look imo. And you still have a decent ride height as compared to lowering on 20's for example. I wasn't a big fan of the RF-17s initially, but they have grown on me. Esp on a black X5.
