You ain't kidding. To top it off now my wife is like "you need to get rid of that piece of shit". I tried explaining this was something that should have already been repaired correctly, and not a new fault, but in one ear out the other. I really hope she (the X5) doesn't give me anymore issues after this for a long while.

It sounds like the replacement of Part #13 is the way to go since the videos sound just like what I am experiencing. Two questions though.

1. Did you guys also experience a hesitation when you accelerate? A stutter feeling?
2. How easy would it be to do this on my own to save on labor?

Jack and stands. Breaker bar. Correct size sockets. These suspension arms are pretty simple. Lots of DIYs. Take a look and gage your proficiency.

Well, I think I just joined the club, got a clunk/squeak on the driver side on the very low speeds (below 15 mph) even on the even surface with no bumps. My F15 is at 73K miles so not bad at all. Ordered a pair of control arms from FCP Euro and going to my indy shop on Tuesday.

I'm joining the club as wells Just replaced both control arms on mine 2 days ago from FCP Euro. Clunk still exists. Just ordered the wishbones and will try to replace those next. Also replaced the links with no luck.

Did you do upper control arms or lower once (#13)?

Clunks can also be worn strut mount bearings. After 100k they’re questionable and if youre in there consider worth the time/money to replace them

I did the lowers (#13). Same ones that are in the FCP Euro link above. Any ideas?

May be a tension strut (#8)? Ask you shop to lift the car and check closely all the bushings.

I'm glad I saw the latest thread before making any purchases. I guess I will just let my indy shop check the suspension and see what they come up with. I'll update this thread once they have performed their troubleshooting and provided a diagnosis.

I just ordered lower arms since they are the most expensive once to get and FCP Euro had very good return policy, so once parts arrive I am taking my car to the indy to check the suspension and confirm lower control arms, if I don't need them just going to ship them back.

My guy told me alignment would not be need for the lower ones.
Am due to replace them on the 26th due to slight boot leak.

Does this look correct for #8? Only option I can find on FCP Euro is w/active steering. How can I confirm whether I have active steering or not? Appreciate the help.

Run VIN decoder and see if you have it, I would suggest taking the car to the shop for diagnostic first, ordering parts second.

Agreed, at this point, I'd rather not self diagnose when I am not a professional mechanic. I will have to just lean on them to do their thing and hope they find the culprit.

In the meantime, I am already imagining my wallet being drained...
