It Will be totally unique for f15. Read the owners manual posted above 82-84, I Think that clarifys What is available Now. I don't know Why People talk about 2 instrument clusters, When There Are clearly 3.

As for your reference to that X5 manual (at first, I thought you were referring to posts 82-84, not pages - it was confusing), let's take a look at other BMW's manual with the confirmed and available 6WB. For example, 5-series GT. Here's the link: http://cache.bmwusa.com/PDF_5db27f09...a9988624d.arox Please take a look at pages 81-85. Specifically, at the bottom of page 82 there is a chapter called "Multifunctional instrument display" about 6WB with the description of all the modes on the following pages. The standard for 2014 GT 6WA (optional on 2014 F15) is called "Instrument cluster" (page 81). Now back to 2014 X5 manual. Nothing even close to that. Page 80 - Overview, instrument cluster; page 81 - Overview, instrument cluster with enhanced features. Page 82 doesn't show the third cluster design, but details of Electronic display - there is a link to that page on both pages 80 & 81: 6 - Electronic displays - 82. |

You may believe what you want about the new LCD display, I am not going to comment why I said what I said, but there is a reason. I think you should read this thread: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=879616 |

We were discussing US versions. And US manual. And I hope I've made a point that manual represents 2 clusters, not 3. I don't know if basic European version comes with even more simplified cluster. And you were referring to the manual as a proof of 3rd option which is not the case (at least, the US manual that was shared here earlier). The thread you provided the link for states nothing more than assumptions. Also, 5er got all the major updates with LCI, and the only thing that was updated between original and LCI was Nav software that didn't require any new hardware. All options that should be available at a later time are usually announced in the manual (such as Stop&Go Traffic Assistant for X5 that was available only starting December production dates) to avoid reprinting. I really doubt BMW would upgrade a major hardware in the car just a few months after production launch. Don't get me wrong, I'm open to any new updates and upgrades, whether those are confirmed or just rumors. I simply didn't understand your reasoning about the manual "that clarifys... There Are clearly 3". Peace! |

On the pages I Said There Are 3 different instrument clusters, and We Were debating a fourth Full LCD one... http://cache.bmwusa.com/PDF_ba19b9fc...2-c91d7601b3c4 Also on the thread I Posted 1st post shows 3 different instrument cluster pics from bmw configurator, albeit the differences Are minor and mainly Are determined by the lcd panel size. There Are Still Three. |

I think you are both right:
The instrument cluster shown on page 82 in the US Manual on-line is what you get when you order a car without navigation system. In Europe, NAV is an option so you can indeed order a car with that cluster. The two alternatives are linked to NAV and to the driving assistant/hud. In the US, NAV is standard, so you will never have a car with the basic cluster. Conclusion: -the cluster on page 82 of the BMW manual should not be mentioned as it is N/A for the US -there are indeed 3 cluster variants in existance today -there are only 2 clusters practically sold in the US. Agree ? ;-) - |

Thanks for helping out Phil1980
I called BMW and after waiting 23 minutes for a customer service and another 9 minutes for her to ask a product specialist, she said that the "enhanced LCD" is standard and that no other display is available, which we know its not true because there are guys here who have different type of gauges for US displays. |

For what its worth, they told me last week that only the wide screen and one (enhanced LCD) is being delivered at the moment whatever one orders, which I off course didnt believe as I have seen different types myself.
Could this all be due to part shortage or simplyfying production lines? We kow some changes were made in the production line in December... |

I just confirmed with my dealer that my F15 is coming with the Extended Instrumental Cluster...I'm guessing it is the one with the wider LCD as shown in the above photo?!
And I do not have the Driver Assistant Package, and they said it is coming as part of the Premium Package...it also includes the Black Panel Technology... I may be talking about a completely different thing but if anyone can confirm it is much appreciated... |

Premium package for the 3.5 version in the US only offers soft doors close, comfort access with keyless entry and 1 year of satellite radio. There is nothing about extended cluster or Black Panel technology

I have the basic one in my '11 535xi and the expanded one in my '14 550xi, and I specifically changed my X5 35i build to include ZDA so that we receive the 6WA KOMBI cluster ... The Basic Cluster does NOT have illuminated gauges during the day ... it really is quite ugly. 6WB full LCD cluster is NOT available at all as of today on ANY US-Spec X5! |

Dealer: "I have an X5 in the showroom right now without Driver Assistance and only premium package and it has the Extended version. I am using this as a guide. I feel confident that it will be the same on yours. Build it on BMW.ca, add premium package and you will see that it adds the gauges." Could this be a Candian/US difference? |

Interesting thread.. @shaw did you get the extended instrument cluster based on your premium package? If so, then it must be a Canadian thing.
I did not know about the extended cluster but I wonder if the display quality will be poor just like the 6WB display... I ordered my car with Driver assistance pkg so I guess I'll find out when I pick it up. Last edited by Kzang; 03-11-2015 at 10:25 PM.. |
