Sonax wheel cleaner?

Has anyone used Sonax wheel cleaner on the factory wheels? I've got 1 1/2 gallons left over and would like to use it if safe for X5 M wheels.

I could not use it on our Land Rover. It didn't damage the wheel, but caused a blotchy, darker shade of gray on the rotor hat. It never caused anything similar on our GL450 or CTS-V, but I didn't want to take any chances if I could just ask.

Thanks!

I've used it, but the brake dust is pretty bad on the X5M that it takes two uses to get most of the dirt off.

I've used it religiously and never had an issue with it. Can't wait for different pads that don't release so much dust.

I use it and follow up with Armor All Wheel Protectant which is a brake dust repellant.

Wheels stay cleaner much longer, safe to use on the calipers as well.

This is the best and safest wheel cleaner out there for rims. Oem rim cleaner is sonax also but rebranded with bmw. Great product, would only use sonax on my oem and current after market rims where i actually care for my finish lol

I used Sonax and have for a while now. I read your comment about the Armor All Wheel Protectant and decided to give it a shot. It works great! Absolutely makes a big difference and does a great job of repelling more than half of the brake dust build up that typically shows up between washes.

Sonax is great, I just can't stand the smell. It's just weird.

If you take care of your wheels, you shouldn't have to use Sonax very often if at all. The very safest product out there is still P21S. I wash my wheels weekly with EZ Detail Wheel Brush and soap. Don't need anything else.

Is that the full size brush you use or the mini one? Does the full size one fit between the rotor and the 21" rims?

I use the large one. It's a bit of a stretch to get it all the way to the very inside of my 21s, but it works! I've had it for years, and it still works as well as it did day one.

I agree. Unless you let brake dust bake on for months I don't really see a need for wheel cleaner sprays. I've used sonax and other before and yes they help but you still need to scrub the surface no matter what so seems pointless to me. Even if i leave the cleaner on and hit it with a pressure washer the wheel only gets 80% clean so I have to use this brush and others to get it to 100%. This by far is the best wheel brush out there and trust me i know cause I've tried out a lot in my lifetime lol
