Love your commitment to this thread! Have you managed to get those pedal covers done yet? Could you provide a link to them?

Thanks!

Pedal covers were the one thing that was in stock when I got my car so they were fitted on delivery.

Absolutely love them. I haven't taken any pictures of them but they look as you would expect from official photo's.

Pedals in context of the cabin. I think they're a necessary addition.

Vey nice, is it an overlay or full replacement. That Mugello is stunning.

If the pedals are the same as in the f10, the brake pedal is a replacement and the gas pedal is overlay.

Were those provided directly from the dealership or did you have them shipped in aftermarket and then installed by the dealer? I need these in my life. They look amazing in your cabin. Do these make the pedals slippery or anything?

Thanks!

I checked them out in person yesterday and they have been sitting in a garage for over 6 months, so they need a good clean. Aside from that, the lips need re-polishing. All pretty simple stuff which should bring them back to their original condition.

Alternatively I could paint them black, however I'm reluctant to do that as I'm already blacking out the rest of the X5M (M Performance parts) and I think black wheels might be a step too far. The first step is to get them refinished if I do buy them.

The pedals came directly from my dealer.

What i've discovered is that dealers will negotiate on these parts, albeit slightly.

With the terrible exchange rate, shipping and taxes, it's worked out cheaper locally.

After going back and forth a number of times I've decided to move forward with the ADV.1 wheels.

http://adv1wheels.com/wheelcollection/adv5-0ts.php
  • ADV.1 5.0
  • Track Spec
  • 22" 3 piece
The wheels are about a year old and we're sitting in a friends garage for the past 6 months. Previously he was running them on an E70 X5 M50d.

The polished lips will be refinished locally as they're a little dull, however the centres are in perfect condition. A good clean is all that is needed there.

I'm only paying about 25% of the brand new cost so it was a deal I couldn't pass up. They come with Continental UHP tyres with about 80% tread.

Initially I will keep them in their original finish with the Carbon Black exterior, however I may wrap the car down the line and paint them black.

Looking into suspension options though I am interested to see how they will look at the stock ride height initially.

KW V3 would be the ultimate choice but I have a few other mods in mind (Eisenmann Race exhaust) that I want to explore.

Therefore I may go with the popular H&R springs, or for something closer to the stock ride quality, ACS springs.

Nice choice sir! Can't wait to see them on. But I thought the hub bore size was different for the e70?

As you make your determination on the KW - please help contribute to my other thread. I'm really in limbo on this.

I didn't know about there being a differences the E70 to F15/F85.

Can anyone else elaborate on this?

I've just come across this site, not sure how much to trust it however the centre bore is described as being the same at 74.1 on both the E70 and F15.

E70: http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/BMW/X...-%202013).html
F15: http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/BMW/X...3%20-%20).html

The site describes the offsets as being 48 - E70 vs 37 - F15. Is this something I should be concerned about? I notice on my friends E70, the ADV's more or less fit flush.

The difference sounds like it's about 1cm, not very much. Though I wonder if they will sit in too much or stick out and rub when the car is dropped.

I'd contact ADV to confirm there are zero issues. Some aftermarket wheels have bore spacers, some have to be machined out to fit 74.1 and some bolt on.

Further reading tells me that the E70 and F15/F85 are 74.1 front and rear, however the E70 X5M wS different in the rear. As you say, requiring it to be increased from 72.x to 74.1 like the fronts. I've emailed ADV to confirm, but it sounds like the worst case scenario is the offset difference meaning the wheels would sit in 1cm more on the F85 than they did on the E70.

His car was an E70 M50d so I am unsure if they ran the E70 X5M rear bore or the E70 X5 bore. That's something else I need to find out.

Info below: http://www.bmwforums.info/bmw-wheels...olt-sizes.html

Most likely, the E70 M50d uses 70.0 front and 72.5 rear (similar to the X5M). You'll need to bore the front and rear to 74.1. This is an easy task for most machine shops. Very common.

I'd seen that link, and I've also seen some confusion around 74.0 vs 74.1. I believe you meant 74.0 above when you wrote 70.0?

Either way, it's not clear if the E70 M50d was setup like a regular E70 X5, 74.1 all around, or if it was different in the rear (72.x) like the E70 X5M.

I think the only option now is to do a test fit. That way we can quickly determine if there is a bore issue, which will mean opening up the rears to fit, and checking the offset difference.

I'm really reluctant to mess around with this too much but I will persist for the meantime until I can get a difinitive answer on this.

I've search far and wide, and cannot find a definitive answer on whether the E70 M50d is 74.1 all around like the other E70 X5 models, or different in the rear like the E70 X5M. That said, I did find this link in German which shows spacers for the E70 M50d as being 74.1 all around (assuming) - http://www.rupteur.ch/de/produkte/sp...E70-M50d-280kW.

It's looking like the hub bore will be 74.1 all around on these ADV wheels and will fit straight onto the F15/F85. Regardless, I am going to do what I should have initially and test fit them to my M. I'm following up with the owner for the PO # which will give ADV the ability to let me know the exact specification of the wheels.

NOW - in other news I finally got my front M Performance grilles fitted!

To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure the black parts would suit Carbon Black, but it looks incredible.
