Fineline Pure Wood Trim: how to touch up wear marks?

I have a 2015 X5 with Fineline Pure Wood Trim. The wood has held up fairly well, but the center console Wood Trim has several small wear marks (nicks and scratches) that could use a quick touch up with a very small brush. The nicks appear lighter than the wood color.

Does BMW have a touch up kit for this issue? If so, please provide the part #. If not, has anyone touched these up on their own? If so please state what stain or paint did the job (manufacture name, paint code or stain name. Was it water based? What sheen was used i.e. flat or satin. I am tempted to go to an art store and get small containers of water based acrylic paints and mix myself to the proper color. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You should just order the knee bolsters (knee pads) from r33_RGSport

I couldn't find the knee bolsters on the RG site. Could you please provide a link? Thanks.

I'm also interested if you find a good match. Just noticed a .3mm nick the other day, looked like a piece of dust. No clue how it got there, so hoping this material holds up.

I will begin experimenting with touch up paint/stain. If I can find a close match I will post the details.

For wood touch ups, have you tried liquid Old English? It comes in a variety of colours, and also comes in a touch up pen variety. It works amazing well, and would be ideal for the matte wood...but it will not work on glossy/sealed wood.

I had this issue as well. I grabbed a handful of colored pencils and it worked shockingly well. Need to play around with the shading but really easy fix.

i've used black permanent markers on previous bmw wood trims. you could also go to a hardware store and try some minwax touch up stain pens.

So I put this image on imgur and someone replied with

That looks like it would work perfect.

Exactly - the lightness is what draws your eyes to it most times. A sharpie in the crack with a quick wipe afterwards will make 99.9% of the people never see it.

So an update on this, I bought the pen linked above and I am very impressed. Here is an after shot.

Here is another spot where I used it. I think I will need to put a small amount of wood putty as it's a deeper scratch. However, overall I am very pleased with this product.

Color code

Hello all I have maybe a newbie question. Is there a code number for the wood trim color anywhere on the X5? Maybe it's in the VIN?
Thanks.

Part #9 had codes and names for each trim. Same for the door panels and knee pads area.
