Any changes before I order?

Hey guys, I am getting ready to pull the trigger on an X5. I appreciate all the info you have posted it has been very helpful. I am currently leasing a 2013 550 and my lease is up in a few months. I am hoping to place my order in the next couple days and I wanted to get some input on my build. When I ordered my 550 I left out the sport trans so I figured I would check first.

2016 X5 35i M Sport
20" Wheels
Black Sapphire Metallic
Mocha Napa Leather Design Pack (I will check out in person before I order)
Multi-contour Seats
Fine Line Wood Trim (or Brushed Alum)
Cold Weather
Driver Assist Plus
DHP (Based on posts)
Adaptive M
Lighting Package (Based on posts)
Premium Pack
Ceramic Controls
Harman Kardon
Space Saver

I know there are some things I can leave out but I am starting high. I may have to eliminate a couple items to get the $$ right...hopefully not. Thank you in advance for your help.

You are close to my setup, except different color and I have a few more options. The one thing I am surprised is you picked Ceramic controls, have you had them before? They are nice but I dont think worth the money.

Yes I have the ceramic controls now and I like the look. I am not sure they are worth the money either but eliminating them wouldn't make a big difference in my payment.

Do you have the Mocha Napa?

Is ivory Napa an option for you? I have on black Saphire with natural wood and love it.

Ceramic Controls are great looking...elevates the feel of luxury in the car...I ordered it on the 35d...the 35i that came in (my previous order) was looking great when I sat in it...especially if you are ordering it with Mocha color...

I also have seen and ordered Mocha Nappa...the 35i I ordered was also Mocha Nappa...
Personally I preferred Dakota Mocha...as it is tougher, sturdier,...but unfortunately, Dakota doesn't come with Premium Seats....My 2014 35d had Mocha Dakota...the leather is solid.
I chose Mocha Nappa just because of the color and that it came with Premium seats...not the quality of the leather to be honest...I think it is not as tough as Dakota and we should be more cautious about it?! and I could have easily lived without perforated seats had the premium seats came with Dakota....

Solid build.

Get the rear sunshades. I have kids and it used every single day. For $250 its a no brainer.

I had the ceramic controls on my 550 as well but not on my X5. While they do look/feel nicer it doesn't justify the cost imo. What really changed my mind was that since i was getting the silver hexagon trim the silver knobs/shifter actually looks great with it. If you are going with the wood trims then go for the ceramic. I got the soft close doors instead of the ceramics in my X5 and don't regret it on bit. Mocha Nappa with the silver trims is gorgeous in my opinion.

I think ceramic controls enhance the interior look and feel... And thats where u spend most of ur time in the car... Also rear sun shades are worth the money...

^^ +1 on both the rear shades and the ceramic controls. I have both and would definitely get them again. Driving a BMW now without them just doesn't feel the same interior wise. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the Mocha leather, but that's a personal preference...I prefer black interiors.

Good point on the ceramic controls with aluminum trim. I really want to see the Mocha Napa in person before I order hopefully they have one with aluminum. If I don't go Mocha I probably go with black and add the leather dash. I wouldn't think it looks strange with 2 different leathers.

I have the perforated Napa now and it seemed to hold up ok. I would think non-perf Napa will hold up even better.

1230vani: What is the individ black trim?

Shaw: Thanks for the pics

Alan: I will consider the sun shades

Thanks for the input
