I would say that my X5 is the first time I got wheels and extremely happy with them right off the bat. Unless they get wrecked I don't plan on changing those BBS SV's out.

Your list of previous/current rides is MUCH more interesting compared to mine

You made a good choice...even I have to admit I found myself looking at getting those wheels. Wisdom prevailed in the end..I'm sticking with the set of wheels I have. The OEM 469's for winter tires and 599's for summer. No more "mods" for the X5 for a while..the next big one I want to get is the Dinan ECU since I want the extended warranty. The M rotors were the last thing to get for now with the new baby on the way!

And thanks! I have obviously always loved cars...I had a Lemans blue on Lemans blue E39 M5. I finally got BBS CH wheels towards the end before selling her because I loved the OEM wheels.

Thanks guys.

My E46 was my "show car". I use to travel to HIN shows all over the east coast with a BMW crew. Won a few awards but most importantly I met a lot of my current friends from experiences with that car. That front lip from ACS was like 3K and those little struts were like $500 a freaking pair! Had to go authentic then since reps weren't up to par yet back then and its frown upon at shows. I was crazier then lol. HRE's, BBKs all around, ASA supercharger kit, Schrick cams, Carbon hood, ACS everything. It was even featured on Performance BMW Magazine before. I have to see if I still have pics of that.

I remember it all, you were an inspiration for my 323i, except I didnt have the money to ball like you did

I still miss my 323i actually, Orient Blue is still one of my favorite colors and I wish they had it again on more models.

Great looking truck bro, after seeing those BBS SV's with the red/gold center caps on your truck...you left me no choice but to get myself a set

You think it is safe to put it back on by mid March? Or do you think the pot holes need to be repaired first?

Salt and sand is still around on the roads in March. We need some good rainfall to wash it all away.

I generally go with April.

It would be good to hear if other have done earlier without any issues.

The roads aren't too bad this year so if we don't get anymore snow i think mid march might be ok.

A thread like this makes me want to purchase a set of aftermarket wheels. Perfectly executed modification, all around, Alan. Nice work.

Hi Alan,

Great thread and I wanted to get your latest update on the reliability of the car. I haven't had a chance to go through every page here (yet). I found your original thread asking about X5 reliability rating.

So far, what I got is your went with the 6cyl over the 8cyl for that longevity reason.

I am in the market for a family SUV and I really want to stick with BMW. However, my last car (2011 335i couple) was ALWAYS in the shop. Out of warranty, it was a nightmare and I ended up trading it in for a Lexus.

Now I am in the market for a SUV, I really want to convince myself to go BMW again. But after the 335i and the poor ratings on JD Powers, I am hesitant.

She did but lucky she went easy on us. Had maybe an inch of snow on the car but nothing accumulated on the ground
