X5 35D (Canadian Order Update)...LEFT FACTORY!
The car status still shows On order...no progress yet.
Wondering if we should be expecting further delays?! Last edited by Shaw; 01-09-2014 at 09:14 AM.. |

You're right, 469M! Hit the wrong key and didn't proof The other delay that was mentioned was the camera packages. They told me that changing the wheels would only bump it two weeks (from 7 to week 5). So I'm guessing that the cameras delay it to week 5. I know others have stated the nappa leather was in short supply as well. I ordered Mocha nappa and no mention was given that it contributed to the delay. I'm sticking with the 469M and was recently updated for a week 6 production.

Congratulations! If you also were tracking it via bmwusa.com or the 800#, were those showing on order with no confirmed production date?

not sure if we have that option here in Canada...I remember back in 2011 when I ordered my X3, we weren't able to do that...not sure if anything has changed since then...all we have access to is our Sales Rep's database...

So it is highly depending on your sales rep to track it down for you...but once you get your VIN #, then you can start semi-tracking your vehicle based on the shipment and vessel schedules... have you received your VIN yet? |

That should actually be a good sign. You can usually (though not always) make changes if the car is in status 112 (scheduled for production) but definitely not if in 150. Fingers crossed that you're in 150!

well here it is: YESTERDAY, I check with dealer regarding the status on my X5 and he said, it still shows "ON ORDER", he writes me TODAY that it has been changed to "LEFT FACTORY"....so somewhere down the line the status wasn't updated to "scheduled for production" or "IN PRODUCTION"....blame the hangovers... I can't get any specifics out of my CA or BMW NA about what's causing the bottleneck with my build. The new car manager who does the ordering for the dealership I'm working with. He changed out the wheels from the 469M to 467M and it moved the build from week 7 to week 5. They had told me the delay was both the wheels and the camera pkg. I'm just assuming it's the camera package that held it up at week 5, since the allocation was for week 2 to begin with. As it is, my build has moved up one week to week 6 with the 469M's. |
