The testing has been done and a few set of BMS N63tu tunes has been sold to a few of the F15 xDrive50i owners.
With that, the testing is concluded and feel free to PM me for any questions about the product or obtaining the product.

I will be getting Terry's tune for my 50i in a couple weeks. I run his tune on both of my 335i's (tune only E90, & big single turbo E92). Typically you'll see an increase in gas mileage once you get tuned, I wonder what that will be with this thirsty v8?

Go to my site, www.rgsportshop.com if you want to order them.
I've PM you the coupon code already.

As far as gas consumption, in my experience, it is not the tune that causing the engine to consume more gas. But it is because of you that can't stop enjoying the extra power that you get from the tune.

I would love some end user response in regards to this tune. I'm going to put in xpipe in place of the center resonator, would love to add this tune to enhance that flow. Who else on this forum has it so far?!

You will really benefit from this tune with the enhanced exhaust flow you are planning to install.
I have not see any improvement in gas millage. I am still getting 16mpg on non-road trip driving.

I still think the 50i engine desperately needs a highflow intake. You can easily feel that it is not getting the amount of oxygen it is begging for.

i have an easily executed idea for an intake but the question of Heat soak vs flow is in question with any open cone style filter going on with these turbos.

the intake of the 50 can be dismantled leaving two inlets to the intake piping, then 2 cones with MAF mount tubes can be put in place.

it looks easily done

any input with more mileage on the car? interested in your opinions on the difference in output, and driving enjoyment? better throttle response in general? quicker/more active? does it get up and go like all hell broke loose?

You may want to check with the 550's and 650's owner. They are on the same N63tu motor since 2013 model I believe.
Some of them bought from me also.
Or you can always check N54tech.com also.

I am getting roughly 16mpg. Which is about the same as what I was getting prior to the tune. I mainly drive in Sport and occasionally Sport+. The only time I use ECO mode is when I am in freeway traffic. Start/Stop is always disabled regardless of which setting I am driving in.
I wouldn’t say it gets up and goes like all hell but it is much quicker than stock. I have yet to break the tires loose but I also have not tried hard enough…yet!

Overall, for the price and how easy it is to install, I would definitely recommend their tune.

-It take about 50miles for the tune to break in before you really notice an improvement.
-I would also run 91(or 93) octane.
-You can also adjust the tune setting up a notch as some of the 550i guys have done. I have not done this yet but I plan to after this weekend.

I am aggressively looking for an air intake option and will keep you posted!

@bluelodge400, how is the tune so far? Can you give us more review?

Everything is running great! I have put roughly 2XXX miles on the tune and have not had any problems.
I drove up to Tahoe last weekend and I was barely able to notice any decrease in performance at 6000+Feet. On my drive up, I pushed the vehicle very hard and still had 0 problems.

As for increased gas millage, I have not noticed any increase or decrease.

For the price, this thing is WELL worth it.

R33 .

I have another update for you.

Yesterday, I fueled up with 100 Octane. OMFG it feels like an entirely different vehicle!!!! I’d easily say it blows my Cayenne Turbo out of the water in terms of performance. The CT still has the X5 beat once you’re in the turns… Porsche’s suspension and PTV can’t be beat!

Another added benefit I noticed running 100octane was alleviating the exhaust back-pressure.

Overall, this tune is even better if you can run 93+ octane.

well luckily here in South FLorida i can get 93 all day!!

i believe im going to get this immedietely lol just hit 1500 miles and now im ready.

what is your input on cranking the screws in the box to increase output?

i assume the Dynos BMS pulled on the x5 50 i n63tu would be in the stock setting they are shipped with? or do you think that the dynos showed max setting?

It is pre-set at default from BMS. And their dyno would be their default setting as their disclaimer is to play with the settings at your own risk.

I think you will be really happy with it!

I have not played around with the settings. I’m afraid I might trigger a fault code and I do not have time in the next month to take the X5 in for service. But who knows…maybe I’ll be adventurous over the weekend and give it a shot!

Fantastic Give me A SHout!!

i had a conversation with with terry over at BMS.

he highly recommends boosting the tune with the screws if you have an intake or any freer flowing exhaust. especially if you use 93 octane or greater

so my plan was to compose an intake utilizing higher flowing filters in the stock housing. and i am removing the center resonators, or purchasing the GT haus Exhaust.

now whether thats minimally increaased or off the charts is TBD lol

Have you received it?
Install is very easy. You just need to find the correct sensors then the rest are 1 minute job.
