No. It's actually higher and not currently available in the US.

It behaves differently for sure. Might not be everybody's taste.

What are those two lines down the middle? Do they have anything to do with lane departure warning?

No. LDW is now in the lower corner and is just green or orange. No longer shows which side is detected.

The lines are just graphical and to enhance the interface.

@wdimagineer, Bimmer-Tech forgot the adapter since the 6WA and 6WB have a different slot setup. There are two wires from my vehicle: 1) the rainbow wire (MOST 12 pin plug) and 2) the green/black wire. The 6WA has two separate slots for each wire. The 6WB combines these two slots into one big slot to fit both wires, but they don't fit without an adapter that plugs directly into this big slot. The two wires then plug directly into this adapter. Bimmer-Tech is shipping it to me from Poland on Monday and should be here by Wednesday (fastest shipping possible). They apologized for forgetting the adapter. This is a heads up to anyone ordering this. Open up your kombi cluster first to see what wires you have if you are planning on buying this. I have to wait till Wednesday, however, I was able to get the cluster popped out without issue after my buddy used a tool that looked like this but skinnier and without the black rubber ring (he made his himself): http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-35260-Pl...546278DD48X71N. I ordered this for myself and will use those long metal rods with the handle bars if I ever need to open up my cluster or remove it: http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-35260-Pl...546278DD48X71N. I'm sure you can find just those two rods somewhere for cheaper. Mercedes makes them for their vehicles.

Anyway, after I finish this on Wednesday, I will have a full tutorial with plenty of pictures posted for everyone so you know what to VO code, what to remove and how to install, and how to inject the CAFD coding at the end.

Here are pictures of the wires and clusters: 1 and 2) wires connected to 6WA cluster (original) 3) wires disconnected to show what they look like 4) 6WA cluster slot 5) 6WB cluster slot

So, the adapter just came. I'll be installing the 6WB tomorrow. Here's what the adapter looks like in comparison to the wiring and slots to my post above:

I just successfully installed my 6WB Cluster! It wasn't that bad after all. So, I have loads of pictures to take with a better camera and write everything up for everyone to understand where to buy, what to install, and how to code everything. I'm very happy! In the mean time here's some pics I took with my Note 3 with AC Power ONLY - that's why you see time and date not set yet and the Engine Light (all normal). When you turn on the car, everything is as it should be. Enjoy!

Thanks, bud. I'm very happy. It looks much better in person. I took better pics and just typing up the full do it yourself write up thread now. Should be done by 10:30pm or earlier.

Cool. One question - do you have the red tamper dot active? I remember reading about it over here. I wonder if bimmertech provide guidelines on how to get rid of that dot?

No red tamper dot . Just follow my tutorial once completed word for word and you will have zero issues.

Thank you, buddy. Turns out, I took A LOT of pictures to help in this tutorial since a picture speaks a thousand words. I think it will all be done by tonight - 12-1am. I like to be thorough so people don't get confused .

The tamper dot appeared on mine briefly when first connected to the car. If you buy a brand new cluster it won't have the vehicle VIN written to the EEPROM. Successfully coding the cluster will clear the tamper dot and essentially pair it to the vehicle.

If you buy a used cluster that has either had its EEPROM wiped or has had the VIN cleared, you run that risk.

Also, the adapter isn't needed for cars with the 6WA cluster. (Typically HUD-equipped cars.)

was pleasantly surprised with the digital instrument cluster on our new 2015 X5. the dealer didn't know about it either. i didn't think it was a feature I'd like but it looks great! i believe it was standard, here in Canada.
