Pure Wood or Oak Trim with Black Dakota leather?

Trying to decide between Pure Wood and Oak trim with Black Dakota MC interior.I have seen the Oak trim with black interior but all Pure Wood seems to be paired with Mocha. If anyone could post pictures of Pure Wood Trim with Black Dakota interiors, it would be great!

I have that combo, and I love it! unfortunately, I'm not driving my truck today, so I'll get you a quick snap after work.
It was my favorite of all the trim choices, and admittedly It would go more luxuriously w a brown, but I wanted lux seats and I have young children so mocha was a no-go. The trim is very nice, it is not finished and is "softer" than the other options, that said it has stood up for 3M to my little ones in the back seat without complications/damage.
I had oak trim in my E70 and had a CRACK spanning the entire length of the piece on the driver's side front door... I sometimes forget my stethoscope around my neck and one day while getting in, the simple "dangling" motion connected with the trim piece and that was enough to crack it, so beware of such... I figure I'll end up w a nice dent instead of a crack this time around...
The only draw-back is on the dashboard, there is a black high gloss piece that is standard form my knowledge, and to be nit-picky, It would look better if both finishes matched rather than high gloss and matte abutting each other (this would be less noticeable in lighter colored interiors)
will check back later!
good luck!

Fine line oak all the way. Pure wood looks like cheap plastic.

Completely disagree. I have pure wood on mine and love it. Doesn't feel plastic at all, and has more texture than the polished trims. Those, IMO, look plastic.

Just goes to prove that everyone's tastes can vary greatly.

Indeed. Glad you like it. I did see it on a graphite metallic X-line with terra Dakota leather and that interior combo looked rugged and cool. Just don't like how flat it is in a "luxury" interior.

I too disagree. I opted for the Fineline Pure wood and IMHO it is the most contemporary looking of the trims offered. It looks especially modern and sleek with the Terra Dakota Leather. IMO, the glossy, grainy looking wood reminds me of an old Lincoln Town Car. It's just very old fashioned.

Here's pics of my interior:

Yeah, like I mentioned above, that's the one interior combo where pure wood trim looks good, but it doesn't look refined. It looks rugged and outdoorsy, which goes well with Terra Dakota on an X-line build.

It certainly looks good with the browns - mocha or terra, but I am keen to see any pictures with black.

I have looked at a couple of used 2014 x5: s the last couple of month whit max 10000 km on the spedo and i have notice that the Fine line oak get damaged easy whit cuts and stuff compare to say the aluminum line, when you touch the Fine line oak it feels like its raw wood and it’s not prepared correctly to handle the wear and tear of everyday driving.

I've heard people say the same about the hex trim though too.

Are you referring to the oak getting dented and scratched or the pure wood? I have had the poplar on my 5 series for years and it is still in perfect condition. I would guess the fineline oak and poplar would be similar, with the pure wood being 'soft'.

Is the Pure wood "in person" dark enough and brown enough to go really well with the Mocha Nappa interior? If it's too light or not brown enough I would think it would look a bit out of place and stand out too much.

Also with such a refined luxury interior, does the unfinished rustic wood go well? I can't see it in person and either I order Oak (seen) or order Pure (sight unseen).

The photos above are helpful. How accurate is the color in the photos compared to Pure "in person"?

Thanks

I just ordered black leather with fineline pure wood trim, but having second thoughts. Space Grey exterior BTW.

Can you guys help me out and post some more pics of the pure wood with black leather? Thanks. Like the comment above, not sure if the matte finish compliments the black plastic on the dash as well as the gloss wood finish
