Yes, I'd get the X5 again. 3rd gen- 2014-2017, as many options as I could find. I'd get the 3.5, but the 5.0 is tempting... Really like the steering wheel heat, and the heads up display.

I also owned two F15s. 2018 has some minor improvements. CarPlay plays music through wifi not bluetooth so quality much better. Also did a mod now for full screen CarPlay. Modded the car this time around (heavily for my standards, forum standards not so much). Enjoying the diesel torque as well. Congrats on your car!

Does anyone opinion changed when buying used to keep.
Looking at a 2016 x5 loaded 35i m sport vs a Cayenne base. Cayenne has longer warranty. |

Yes, would buy X5 again BUT would strongly suggest keeping the 335i too. The X5 is sporty feeling compared to other SUVs but not comparable to 335i car. I think you will miss the 335i if you sell it

I currently own a 2017 X5. 35d. Just over 35,000 miles ,,,it is by far is thee best car truck I’ve ever owned ...zero problems,,, averaging 34 MPG, real MPG if you go by the on board computer I get 37 MPG,,but I don’t know if I would replace it ,,,Only if they put a diesel in it again ,but then I might be in the market for a X7 diesel then,,, I plan on driving this one for at least 2 to 300,000 miles

I love my X5, but honestly there are some regrets. I should have gotten adaptive cruise control and nightvision. I do a lot of highway driving and a lot of night driving. I've used both very useful features.
Now if I were go back to the period when I was looking for a new car, I think I should gotten that S-coupe I wanted... Anyways I plan to keep this car until it breaks, next car will be 911 Targa or G63

My average in my 2015 over 98k miles is 26mpg. That does include towing tho. Most of my highway trips give me 28mpg and I’m a lead foot. |

First get rid of those run flat tires ,,only use a quality fuel,,maintain a average of 61 mph. ,,drive in eco pro,, drive it easy don’t abuse the power that’s there,,,I drive about 60 miles one way every day ,,,and with the wind I could even get better than this but this is my average of back and forth...from work

Only owned my f15 for 6 months and wouldn't go back. I've always been a BMW fanatic since my first of three E46's.
I've driven a lot of cars and SUVs; you will not find a better vehicle. BMWs are solid, well built, sporty, safe... The Ultimate driving machine is no lie. I absolutely LOVE my X5 ; coming from an E60; which I thought was an amazing vehicle. My mom had a Jeep Grand Cherokee which has had more problems than any car I've ever seen. Have a couple of buddies that have had jeeps with similar outcomes... I like the look of the new Jeeps ; but they are nowhere near the same level of an X5! |

If 34 mpg is impressive, our 25d will provide 42,5mpg.. however that was with very careful driving due to traffic and slippery roads :-) More normal is 35-39 mpg with higher speeds.
That aside, only had the car for three months, and we'd definitely buy it again. However when that time comes it will have to be a fully electric vehicle. |
