I'm waiting for that very call!

PS: Well said, my friend.

I loved that part as well! I remember though when a buddy of mine ordered an X3 he could login and watch his actual car being built. I though that was so awesome!! Wish they did this with the whole line up of BMWs

Haha, my friend is good but no one is that good in terms of speed. Something I really like about him is that he's a perfectionist. It would have been done by this Saturday; however, because I added a tiny new project (custom illuminated door sills), it will probably completed by Monday or Tuesday. I'll keep everyone posted . A new thread will be made for this .

I appreciate everyone voting, but the wrap was chosen already . I picked Satin Chrome, which is a color very similar to Alubeam Matte Chrome.

@opasha I think I speak for many of us here when I say how excitedly anxious we are to see the outcome of your X5.... I can't imagine how much more anxious you must be feeling for the big unveiling!

Ok, just an update for everyone. My friend said it will most likely be done on Wednesday (I know...the wait is tough!) since I added the custom LED door sills - but hey, it's worth it to me .

All the interior pieces are wrapped. I just left the shop as they began clear coating everything. That will dry and they will put it into the car tomorrow hopefully. I believe the exterior wrapping begins tomorrow afternoon or evening. The projected day seems legitimate so far .

Thanks for your input . Satin Pearl is definitely a beautiful color, and that is the effect a clear satin wrap would give over Mineral White. For me, the change wouldn't have been much so I didn't go that route. I just want something unique/different, so I went for Satin Chrome, and everyone's feedback confirmed/helped my decision .

Gel coating used had a chemical reaction with the 3k carbon fiber when it dried so you can't see the carbon fiber weave at all. Now they have to re-wrap the interior panels again and use a different clear coat so it's delayed till Friday .

You should start some teasers bro. It's amazing to see how the pieces are coming along all together.

any thoughts on having a raw carbon fibre texture for your interiors? i understand the need to clear coat for external panels etc, but on the interior it would hold up well i think. i love the look and feel of raw carbon fibre.

X5Jouster used raw 3D carbon fiber on his. The use of clear coat is to protect the actual vinyl while giving a glass like look the way the steering wheel has. You can do it raw too as long as you wrap it well enough without any pieces being exposed where they might peel.
