F15 timing chain change?

Hello everyone,

I just crossed 75k on my 35i and wanted to see if/when it's important to check the timing chain?
I was just reading over the E70 forums and I saw couple cases with failures after 80k

Any thoughts?

On then N55 if you use right engine oil (LL01) and is changed within 1yr and/or 10k miles, shouldn't worry about timing chain, they will last well beyond 100k miles. N55 timing chain are probally the least of your worries.

As for the E70's N55 the earlier 2011 models has vanos bolt coming loose or shearing off due to mfg defect, this will cause the timing chain to slip off the cam shaft or rattle until it snaps, however this issues has been rectified in 2012, and all MY 2012 and wont have this issue.
