Not sure if this has been discussed before but is Dynamic damper control standard on M-Sports package?

1. ZSU (standard suspension) 2. 2VF (Adaptive M suspension, which is essentially the DDC but can go sportier) 3. ZDH (Dynamic Handling Package) - includes 2VF but also adds the anti-roll. Check out this thread for more info: http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=913797 |

But my question is. When you order the M-Sports line on the X5 and you wanna order just dynamic damper it won't let you. It's takes off the M-Sport. When you order the Luxury line or X-line you can add just the dynamic damper control or order the dynamic handling package. So with that said, is the reason BMWUSA won't let you combine the M-Sports line with just dynamic damper control is that the M-Sports line also comes standard with Dynamic dampers?
It's will let you add M-Sports line with dynamic handling package and it adjusts the price of dynamic handling package from $4,500 down to $3,600. Which makes me believe dynamic damper control is already included with the M-Sports line which would make since since the M-sports line is significantly priced higher than Luxury line or X-line

I have a 35i M sport with no suspension upgrades added and I do not see 2VF listed on my build sheet anywhere, nor have I ever heard anything about it being included in M Sport package.
M Sport package includes: 337 M Sport Package N/C 2T6 19" M Light alloy Double Spoke wheels style 467M-with all- N/C 2TB Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles N/C 3MC High-gloss Roof Rails N/C This can also be satin aluminum 481 Sport seats N/C 4MR Aluminum Hexagon interior trim N/C 710 M steering wheel N/C 715 Aerodynamic kit N/C 760 Shadowline exterior trim N/C 775 Anthracite headliner N/C I see what you're saying about the DHP, adds only 3600 when I try it too. Seems like maybe it's a bug in the configurator. Maybe someone with DHP can confirm whether they paid 3600 for it or 4500.. |

From my understanding. If you do not upgrade to this option, you will get the standard suspension even if you order Msport. |

Yup - Mattbar1 is right. The M Sport defaults to the standard suspension. For $900 more (instead of $1,500 with the other lines), you can get a sportier version of the Dynamic Damper Control that is called "2VF Adaptive M Suspension." If you want the Dynamic Handling Package with the M Sport, you get both 2VF ($900) and ZDH Dynamic Handling Package for $3,600.
I have an M Sport on order with the 2VF but not the full ZDH. I asked the dealer if I could get the dynamic damper control instead (2VM) of the 2VF but he said the ordering tool won't allow it. I wanted it because it appeared from BMW's less-than-scientific suspension comparison chart that someone posted on here that the 2VM was slightly softer than the 2VF. Finally - the BMWUSA website's build tool isn't working quite right in that when you choose M Sport it doesn't give you the option of choosing 2VF. Your dealer will be able to do it though. (Incidentally, if you choose the ZDH with the M Sport it shows as only $3,600 but the total MSRP includes both the $3,600+$900 2VF.) (The fact that I know this much about the suspension is somewhat embarrassing, but I suppose I am in good company on this site!) |

2vp dynamic performance control is not avaialble with 7 seats and m sports package. 2vm dynamic damper control is not available with 2vf (sports package), because a tuned dynamic damper control is included in the adaptive m suspension (brochure p 33).

Interestingly my CA offered me the choice of "deleting 2VF" when I added ZDH to my M-Sport. The option confused her also, but she said it was "on the order sheet"
Is this merely a default "softer" version of ZDH? |
