Dealership delayed my order

Just wondering if anyone else has experieced what I am. I ordered my 2014 50i M-sport fully loaded $94,000 sticker price about 2 months ago. I was expecting my car anyday now until my dealership called me today and said that it was delayed until mid January production date which means I wouldn't get the car until end of January the earliest. So I dealt with it and my anxious self was content on waiting. Now this evening I got another call from the dealer and they said now the production date was Feb 15th which means I wouldn't get the car until early March at the earliest. The dealer stated that BMW didn't have all the parts for my build and is delayed. I think it is BS. I don't know what is going on. I'm a little annoyed now. What happens if I decide to wait and in another month I get another call and it is delayed again. i can't afford to wait any longer. They said that they can not promise me that it 100% will be in production by then. It is just what they have projected for my production date for now. I ordered this car over 2 months ago. Originally I was expecting to have the car by now. What should I do? Dealership offered to give me my $5,000 deposit back if I wanted. Now I am contimplating getting the new Range Rover Supercharged again. Need advice what are my options.

Sorry to hear that, but I think the delay is real. I ordered mine around 10/25 (Don't remember the exact date), and I will take delivery next weekend, hopefully. But, I was told by the GM that a dealership employee ordered one couple of days after me and he still hasn't been allocated a build space due to delays. Told me I was lucky.

RRS is one option....but it looks like if you want the X5, you're only option is to wait. Sorry, man. This sucks.

Z.

RRS is a six month wait if ordered today. I don't blame you for being frustrated. Good luck.

That is not nice to hear. Also, you are also subject to price changes. If it drags on too long that has to be balanced with the production change for 2015, as I think the F25 had a May/June MY change, just a thought. Hopefully some other buyers who have heard similar info could kindly share their news updates, if any. My neighbour rented for a month a domestic car from Hertz/Budget until his CLA AMG was delivered as he traded in his X6M. You may try waiting a month to gauge the situation. Of course during that time shop around negotiate prices so you can make a quick decision when enough is enough.

5k is a ridiculous amount for a deposit on an X5.

Garage List
Just wait a couple months and get the 2015 X5 M. It has a RDD date around August 2014.

I really think that there is a production problem, where I don't know but if you look at all of the BMW forums around, you will see that there are plenty of delays mainly for the 50i. I was told that wheels were on backorder and it will be until late Jan/Feb before they will be in. If you look at other manufacturers, no real issues just normal waiting time. There was something that I read that said all of the V-8's (50i) had to be re-flashed or something to that nature. What ever it is, it must be serious enough to delay production for as long as it has. Even now, there is no firm date as to when vehicles will be delivered or put into production. Just sayin!

RRS--longer wait. Since you have made a decision on X5, stay with it.
Often, the dates may be pushed back as they get more clarity on the inventory etc. Also, see if you can re-negotiate with dealer for the delay caused.
