Changed tire and..hearing bassy hum sound
Hi,
I'm taking a month or longer trip to Utah where it is somewhat snowy and cold. I just replaced my summer tires with cheap all-season tires (advanta hpz-01)..thinking that I would use it for a couple of months and throw/sell it. The first thing I noticed after driving a couple of miles was that..the new tires make bassy hum~ sound whenever I brake. I took my friends in my car and asked them if they can hear the sound and...they asked me.." isn't it normal?" It sounds like I'm either being overly sensitive or it's just characteristic of that cheap tire. Anyone had a similar situation? I double confirmed that my tires and wheels are mounted correctly. |

I suspect your noise is from inferior tires. Try swapping the tires from front to rear and see if the braking noise gets any better, but ultimately they are just junk.

I recently switched from RFT summer tires to all-season non-runflat and I too noticed a little humming noise. I suspect it's tire thread pattern nothing major.
