Tks. I asked my sales advisor to chime in. I definitely don't want to get a 2017 car to have a 2018 come out with an LCI.

If things go similarly, we can expect the F15 LCI for the 2018 model year in mid to late 2017.

It may not be possible for the OP to extend the lease long enough to get the refreshed model. I think BMW allows up to 6 months, but I'm not sure about that.

Autoblog reported:

"The debut of the fourth-generation X5 will likely come in 2018 as a 2019 model."

Is fourth-generation consider a LCI? I thought that it would be a facelift before a new generation is launched.

That pic shows an X3 and 2018 is too soon for a new model X5, 2017/18 for LCI yes.

OP, don't worry too much, enjoy the latest model as it's only 2 years old, and as previous LCI's show, nothing much changes.

How do you cope with buying TVs, phones etc?

My understanding is that BMW often introduces the LCI to refresh the vehicle and spark additional sales several years into a generation. If Autoblog is correct on the next generation X5 being introduced in 2018 as a 2019 model, then I wonder if the LCI will occur as some have predicted in mid-2017.

It is possible with the X7 being introduced in 2018 that BMW wants to introduce the next generation X5 earlier than normal to reposition it in the line of X SAVs and maintain an advantage over the new Audi Q7 and other competitors. It is also possible that the LCI will occur in 2017 and the next generation X5 is introduced a couple years later in a more normal product cycle.

BMW Blog also had an article on early winter testing of the next generation X5, but still anticipates the LCI for the X5.

"The current generation BMW X5 is only three years into its life cycle, making it about halfway through a typical BMW cycle. So it’s time for a refresh, or LCI treatment in BMW speak, which will likely consist of some slighter freshened headlights and taillights as well as maybe some interior tweaks a some power train changes, like switching from the N55 to the B58 in the X5 xDrive35i."

So basically you get mostly oil changes for 3/36 starting in 2017 while warranty goes to 4/50
If you're going through brakes within 36K or even within 50K then youve got issues. Wiper blades cost a few bucks. This change to the maintenance program is insignificant.
