Factory Rear Window Tint Percentage?

Does anyone know the factory window "tinting" of rear and back windows on 2014 X5?

My Sales Advisor claims 20%, but that seems really dark?

The reason why i'm asking, is trying to figure out what percentage to tint first windows to match.

Thanks,
Pesh

I usually just let the tint shop match it based on whatever tint manufacturer you decide on (3M, Luminar, SunTek, etc.)

I can't help you with the number, but I bet it is going to be darker than you can get the front windows (due to restrictions etc). Would love to know what you end up going with and how it looks. I am going with NikonMan, and having the tint place try and do the matching. Heck, I am sure they have a tint meter to check what the backs are.

Just have them either match or tint over the rear tint to make it all darker if you choose. thats what i do with mine. 5% all the way around!

Good point - my last tint job back when we lived in Miami the installer was able to exactly match all windows by lightly tinting the rear windows (with factory dark glass), then matching the resulting darkness on the front sides. The result was a 100% match.

The resulting tint level was technically 'illegal' in Florida, so I had to pay with cash - however, it was no where near pitch black and you could easily see though it - I never once had an issue with the po po.
