Yes I did - lol

I did add the Park Assist Option as it was not available until December build - so based in Dec/Jan production it is now fully loaded again....

Nothing is completed yet, so it is still a bit stressful as the order has not yet been placed, I was just asked for my current contract....hopefully the car will be ordered this week sometime and the wait will start all over again.

Can't wait to get the final build. Thank You

Well read through all this. Glad went ahead and got my 2013 X5d. I had a feeling
about first year. Had the car 6 months and no trips to the dealer

Well, I can say I am sorry I did not. Car is produced already and am getting scared if there are issues. Here in Europe there are no lemon laws and such, so if you have a problem, a really big problem, you get a discount on your next car or something like that. All the best with your new machine!!!

With Park Assist you won't be able to get Active Steering. I am debating if I should get Active Steering or not. How did you decide? Thanks

I have heard not so good things with regards to park assist. Like if you do not do everything perfectly, then you have to start all over, apparantley not the best option, especially for those (with help of cameras) that know how to park.

Active steering is awesome with the M package.

Thanks for the positive feedback on active steering. I just read your posts in another thread as well.

That's simply not true. It might be for whatever country you're from, but certainly not for EU member states and Germany in particular for example.

Glad BMW stepped-up OP - shame you had to go through all that aggravation though.

You sure cemented in my mind not buying one of these till it's had a year or so in production to work out any kinks...

I'm taking the same approach with the Macan - going to wait till 2015/16 before puling the trigger on that or an F'15 D or 50i..

^ EU Lemon Aid Laws, if so and effective , the process should have resolved some or all of this chaps issues.

dencoop,

I see you changed your trim to Fineline Pure Wood. I would be curious to know why the change-up from your first go-around. Nice build by the way!

Update:

Still no production number BUT

I get a phone call on Friday from a gentleman by the name of Jess C. Says he is the Operations manager for BMW NA and that they are aware of my love for the brand and want to make sure that I am super happy.

He says I should be getting a production number shortly and that he had reached out to the Factory to make sure that there is a plant supervisor/manager with an extra set of eyes at every step of my build....and that they will do a special QA on my car to make sure that is is absolutly problem free...

then he followed up with this e-mail...

"Mr. Cooper,

Thanks for your time today & I’m happy Alison was able to lend a hand getting things resolved. I will reach out to Open Road to see the progress on your replacement car and follow up with the quality managers at the plant to ask them to run an extra set of eyes on your replacement car to make absolutely sure it leaves the plant as perfect as possible.

Have an excellent new year!

Jess"

Now that's what I call customer service

Dencoop, great update.
Then again a rebuilds as they messed up.
Your dedication deserves such eyeballs. Glad to see it goes both ways.
As you know several reported shortages like 20M wheels, cameras, Nappa.
When you get updates/confirmations they include that shortages do not impact you.

Glad this worked out for you!

My BMW dealer crashed my E70 last month while it was in for an oil change. They had my car for 3 weeks while replacing the bumper and fender. Put me into an X1 loaner.

I asked them to buy the car back and they told me to go **** myself.

Called BMWNA and they told me to go **** myself. It's my second BMW, and my last.

Consider yourself a VIP customer, or just plain lucky to receive that kind of service from BMW.

How old was your car when the accident happened? Was it brand new?
