Yeah. It would be a nice feature to have.

Regarding not being able to close the rear hatch via the remote, it seems BMW has deprogrammed that from the US cars over fear of some sort of liability issue (crushing the neighbor's kid or cat without knowing it maybe?)

Anyway, the hope is that someone out on this forum or Bimmerfest or somewhere else will figure out how to reprogram this back in. And share that knowledge with us all. And ditto for some of the other things that have been deprogrammed for the US.

Meanwhile, enjoy the ride.
Thanks!

Oh...I feel a SoCal meetup coming up~~

Beautiful and very well optioned X5. Why are sportier pedals not included on almost an 85k sports SUV? Cheap shot by BMW to charge extra for pedals if they are only in the accessories list even for m-sport model.

I asked my (European) dealer if this was possible, ie closing the tailgate with the keyfob and was told no.
So until someone over here gets a X5 I guess we cant confirm whether its possible or not?!
Can I suggest, if you haven't already tried it, holding the button down for 4 seconds and seeing if that closes it?

Thanks, guys! Just got her tinted today. Gonna go pick up the cargo liner tomorrow. She's slowly coming together.

I have WeatherTech liners. I got them over OEM because these cover the "hump" on the back. OEM doesn't. But the cargo liner, I went with OEM.

Couple of things that I found on my X5 that I thought were pretty neat.

1) The inside surface of the rims are gray...which matches my color.
2) I like that the cubby hole behind the shifter fits the key fob perfect due to the wedge design of the cubby hole. I'm suspecting that's what it was made for.

The remote close of the trunk has never been possible (unless coded) on the E70 either. No surprise it's still the case. Anyway, I have hardly ever found myself in a position to need to do it via keyfob. Maybe when I have kids old enough to get things out of the trunk themselves and I'm at a distance. Window up via keyfob however is something I wish I could do (without coding). Probably can't do that on the F15 either?

I don't believe windows and sunroof opens/closes with the key fob. I remember trying it and it didn't work. I'll confirm it once I can open my windows again. I just got the tint put on and can't open my windows for few days. I know you can open and close the windows and sunroof by touching the door handle.

Hey Zipforia,

Any chance you could add some more external shots of your X5? I'm considering a color change to Space Gray (have Carbon pending at the moment, and thinking it may be too dark for WA).

There are almost no pictures of Space Gray, and you've also got the interior I've ordered (albeit with different wood)....

Thanks!

Well that may be the last straw (remotely closing trunk/cargo area) for me. Just another advertisement from BMW that was false. The surround view/top view debacle on the 50i and now the one thing my wife was looking forward to on the F15..the remote closing of the trunk. Our freaking Tahoe and Escalade had that last decade. Dam It!!

You're F15 is incredible.

We have a space grey F10 that I love and think it's one of BMWs best colors. It's stunning on the F15. Congrats!

Not a problem! Gimme few days to get it up. I'll take it with my DSLR...but the problem is this forum limits the size of the pictures to 1600x1600 on jpegs. Just the exterior?

I feel your frustration. I was expecting it too, since my wife's Odyssey has it and the advertisement on the F15 had it. I'm sure sooner or later someone will figure out the code for this and get it on the forum.

Awesome, much appreciated!

My car was *supposed* to be a Week 1 build, but is currently holding around Week #5 due to supply issues, so I suspect I've got a while to make (more) changes still

I'll take both if you've got time - I think I'm set on the ivory interior, I just *wish* it had black carpets. How's yours holding up?
