MY 2105 additional colours

I am new to this forum and have found it very useful in deciding the options for my new order.
I have ordered the following:
BMW X5 M 50 D F15
A96 Mineral White
LCSW Black Dakota Leather
ZNS Connected Drive, 2V9 468 M Alloys,2VP Adaptive Dynamic Suspension, 320 , 3DZ Model Des deletion, 3AC,233 Tow bar, 3AG Revering Camera, 402 Sunroof, 420 Sun Protection Glass, 430 Ext mirrors folding, 456 Comfort Seats, 552 LED Headlights, 5DL Surround View, 610 HUD, 688 HK, 6AR Internet, 6NS Enhanced Bluetooth.
My build week is 32, which is the first week for MY 2015 ie 4th August 2014. I still have about 4 weeks to make changes. I wanted black nappa leather but this is not available. I do not like any of the brown leathers but want something as soft as nappa and a darker colour to contrast with the exterior colour Mineral White. There are 3 new leather colours available in BMW Individual Merino Leather from 1st August 2014 ie Smoke White, Nutmeg and Taupe. ( also new individual exterior colours are Azurite Black and Pearl Silver )I thought that Taupe may be a possibility . It looks like a grey on the dealer configurator. Has anyone seen this colour ? BTW the public configurators according to BMW Individual in Germany are being updated today for MY 2015. I just tried the UK one and you cannot configure at present so perhaps they are updating it as we speak. Any comments on my build and whether I should change to Taupe Merino Leather would be greatly appreciated.

First post after long time lurk.

The config has been updated although I ordered based on the spec it shows in March and my build is in two weeks. This provided the Tyre Pressure Monitor ( I think) Driving Assistant and Heated Seats as standard. Also a small £200 increase in the cost of the car.

My dealer thinks it is MY2014.5 rather than 2015.

Those extras got added to MY2014 in April I think, I'm getting them on mine when it's built later in June and it's definitely a MY2014.

MY2015 was a different set of extras like improved auto transmission software which reduces CO2 emissions and some extra interior trim options I think.

Yup Wk 25. Dealer has said 6 weeks after that week which will be w/c 28th July. Then the conundrum as to whether to wait to Sept 1st :|

No 8TH speed limit display? I might be wrong but I had understood from some other posts that this was well worth combining with the HUD. If I were you I would trade it against the 6AR internet...

Nice spec! Yes it's a tough decision whether to wait another month for the new reg...I think I'll stick a private plate on mine and have it as soon as it arrives in July / Aug.

We're heading south mid August for a few weeks and my X5 will be sat collecting dust in an airport carpark so I guess I'll wait and see when it actually arrives at the dealer and then make a decision. I've just ordered a JCW Mini Countryman for my wife and that's going to arrive ~week 31 too so now I have two decisions to make!

I've ordered my pair of trim pieces for the lower front grilles, my dealer has agreed to paint and fit them during the PDI. (items 6 & 7 on the attached pic) This mod transforms the look of the M Sport front end IMO - particularly where the car is painted in light colors (the two huge black blanked off lower grilles look dreadful) it's a real shame BMW onlt fit them as standard on the M50d.

Hehe just gone the other way, sold the Wife's JCW (Clubman though) and got a Golf GTI.

Wife saw the attached and had to have one! Trouble is I let her decide on the options - big mistake. We live out in the sticks and need 4x4 so her choice is limited since she won't have a big car...can't please all the folk all the time! She's going for white / red so at least we'll sort of coordinate on the driveway!

Checked with my dealer yesterday - still no VIN, let me know if you get yours!

My status has moved to 5055 over the weekend, I have a VIN number and expected delivery date has improved by one week (wk30)!

Just worked out that X5 VIN ending 43874 is in build today so only a hundred or so to go until mine's finished! (based on production data over the last month, it takes 7-8 days to build 200 X5's therefore mine is due to be built on either the 11th or 12th June - we'll see if it works out!)

@worsy - If you want to send me the last 4 digits of your VIN I'll see if I can work out if it's due for build about the same time as mine (PM me if you want)

Hi Catflap, the trim pieces you mention for the lower grill on the M Sport did you order those from BMW or ...?. Thanks I have the same problem as was looking at the SE model because of the M Sport front end.

Hi, from local dealer.

This is what you need:

Trim on grill, left, 1off 51118056867 (Item 6 above)
Trim on grill, right, 1off 51118056868 (Item 6 above)
Lock Ring 8off 64118247773 (Item 7 above)

Painting & fitting - I was quoted £100 if done at time of PDI

@worsy BMW are currently building X5 with VIN ending '43920' (@ 20:40BST) and completing about 25 per day. when you get your VIN (it must be allocated by now - push your dealer or, if you have your order number, ring 0800 325 600 and ask for an order update they're very helpful and will give you the VIN etc) you can work out roughly when yours will be coming down the production line. Mine should be in production Thursday evening - assuming the production rate remains constant.

You can see on the attached graph that the rate over the past month is pretty constant - the chaps at Spartanburg are doing a cracking job! (the Y-axis is the last 5 digits of the VIN)

I was originally told that mine was due for production next week though it seems things have moved forward a few days.

Catflap - when you say they are completing 25 a day do you mean 25 of a specific model/engine combination?
