New Tire Decision

Current: '15 X5 with 255/55/18 Scorpion Verde RFT, switching to non RFT, Ohio weather, light snow at times, spirited driving, have looked on the threads and tirerack. Need some expert help with final decision. Most suggested were:

Conti DWS06
Michelin CrossClimate
Scorpion Verde AS+ II

Any definite yes/no? Thanks and much appreciated.

Very happy with the Contis. Many would add the Michelin Pilot N-Spec to your list. Good tire, but not worth hundreds more than the Conti IMO.

GL, you'll like the better driving feel.

Vredestein. I've not used them but will strongly consider for my next set. Good reviews on this forum and at Tire Rack. The Quatrac Pro seems to do particularly well in snow for an all season tire.

Out of all those I like the DWS. I feel Ohio weather is best dominated by having a summer set and a winter set.

I'm assuming you're going to run the same tires all year? All those are good choices. As a "dark horse" candidate, I can personally recommend the Nokian zLine A/S that I've been running the last couple of summers. Quiet, and the ride and handling are really good. They're wearing fairly well - after 20K miles I've got around 65% tread left. And they're surprisingly inexpensive - $150 apiece in my size, so should be similar in yours.
