2017 iDrive Forgets Last Display

Wondering if anyone else has run into this - my dealer has had no luck fixing it.

I have always defaulted my BMWs to NAV on the left and entertainment on the right on the split screen for the iDrive screen. Worked like a charm through many BMWs.

2017 brought the new iDrive 5.0 and my F15 likes to forget the last setting and display the menu when the car starts...sometimes.

So I turn the X5 off, and the next time it starts iDrive shows the menu of options (screen with the 6 or so options when you hit menu). I have to press the NAV button to get back to where I left it. It's random, sometimes it is fine for a few days. Other times if happens a number of times in a row.

Not a life or death problem, but annoying. Anyone else run into this or know how to fix it? Note I have already export/deleted/imported my profile to see if that would fix it. No dice.

My '17 exhibits similar behavior, but mine only started after my recent trip to the dealer to have the key fob trunk release changed to a double click.

I keep my display on my audio presets, but randomly on startup it shows the previous audio menu.

I haven't bothered to bring it in for this yet

I had mine in to the dealer last week for an oil service and asked them to check this out.

They came back and said everything was fine. Lol.

As I got in the car on the service drive it was already doing the same issues as before. I guess next time I will have to show them exactly what I meant.

Mine is going in during the next few days. There is a new software update out and I'm trying to get a new iDrive controller. I'm also having an issue with the tailgate not opening on the first try (opens a bit first open, all the way the second open).
