For those wondering, these are battery powered. There is a magnet that you attach to the underside of the door above a sensor spot on the sill. When the magnet is over the spot the sill turns off.

Installation should be easy.
Wow, that would be a snap. Hopefully, unlike the BRABUS, I have to run a power source and switch through the door jam switch.

If I install these on my wife's X5 she might kick me in the head. But the sill lights, if they are battery op. and easy to install, may be at my level of expertise and something I will pick up....Looking forward to seeing photos from others who are in the process of installing/getting the sills.

You should have gone for the 'go faster' stripes, they really work

Hey man, that's not funny. Stripes work! Ever see a monotone race car?

I found her....she looked a little bit like this, in silver, with a front spoiler, and four rectangular fog lights below the bumper. It was really foggy in Santa Barabar those days.

They look like this on the website, hope that is for F15 (it comes out in F15 x5 accessories, but it fits a lot of other models according to description). Installation time quoted 15 mins, no other parts required with msport. They have a battery inside that should last about two years.

What do you guys think? Which one is better? Cheers.

The first one because BMW Individual is a bit much and since majority of our cars aren't even close to that...it creeps in with a bit of tackiness even though they both look great. I think the first one is subtle. I also dig those lines going outward.

Am not sure how they actually look. This could be a generic one as in the description it fits all. Graphic images of the actual part number look different.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking because I tried looking these up on the US sites and they don't exist for the X5s. So, I'm gonna hold off until I find something that does fit correctly since the front and rear are different sizes. I really do love the illuminated look. Post your pictures when you get them, please . Thanks!

Hi @opasha , ordered today, car in the service for cruise control fix (final fix i hope) so i added this as a little extra for myself. They also have performance ones that are litten, from the image I saw, they have nothing litten. Also the image i saw on the screen at the dealer is sorta drawn but still does not look like the one i posted. I decided I will take it without seeing it, assuming it looks better than the current one with m sport (not saying they are bad but its just something different). Cheers

Thanks for the update, Ivan . It seems all the BMW official ones I saw for US were not illuminated. That's why I was trying to inquire about them through you and other places. I didn't really do much searching for it after our conversation. I need to do some more digging.

So, I contacted GetBMWParts for this: http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...29/51472289608. It costs about $240 for the front only. Instead, I'm going to customize my current sills and have all four light up with LEDs to match the the 3 ambient led colors with a custom button to switch colors - will cost me about $300. That's a post wrap project...I'll update on that when it gets done.

EDIT: decided on just doing the blue ambient light since it matches nicely and only costs $150 to be hardwired into the LED ambient lighting - it will be a much cleaner setup. I use blue most of the time anyway.

Got them, installed in a rush by the dealer cost free but they are not illuminated because wrongly installed . They were litten when the box opened and then no more. Hope i cam make them work today, i have a cold but i do not wanna wait. They look far less impressive than i had hoped. I think that for individual you may need to change the whole plastic below, hopefully they are bigger and more impressive. Will post photos when and if i get them to work. Now with instructions that I do not understand! Have no clue where to put the small part D+E
