Fineline Pure Wood Trim

I ordered the Fineline Pure Wood Trim with out ever seeing a real example other than the images on BMW configuration site....very pleased I went with this option. Looks great with the black interior and Mineral White exterior.

Ours isn't here yet, but I am happy I ordered it too. The dealer didn't have any samples of it and tried to talk me out of it because he didn't like it. But glad I didn't listen to him.

Thanks for the pic. I have an X5 in production now with it. Our sales adviser highly recommended it. Looks great in your pics.

Might be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway since I like how it looks.
Is there a layer of clear coat on top of the wood?
There doesn't appear to be.

An X5 at the Chicago Auto Show this year had this trim. I was pretty impressed because I've never seen this type of wood used in a car before.

I am not so sure if there is any clear coat protective layer on this wood trim like there are for other wood trims. Some owners have complained of pieces of wood chipping.

Thought hard about this option but with three kids I bottled it and went for the American Oak option. Fineline really does look great!

The American Oak also looks good (I ordered it with the Ivory/Black leather combo) and would definitely recommend that as well.
