Can you comment on the performance with and without downpipe/intake? Currently I have MPPK and Race Chip, and it's pretty good, but if I can get 40 HP out of the downpipe I'll probably add that too. Would you say the downpipe alone makes a very noticeable difference?
I would definitely want a way to resolve the CEL issue though. |

Thanks for the info. I'm running the Race Chip piggy back, I'd need an external CEL solution. Have you noticed more gas/exhaust smell with the catless downpipe?
Can any comment on changing the downpipe and warranty? Last edited by 3X3=5; 08-13-2017 at 08:55 PM.. |

For some reason the 5 and X5 have a noticeable odor when idling at a light for a while with Windows down. My M3 had none, 335 had none but this truck does. Again, it's not enough to out weigh the performance benefits. Your warranty should be fine if you give your SA a heads up. Down pipes really effect emissions in their minds. They frown less on that than tunes and piggy backs

In any case, whatever engine you got - it's still an x5 and it's still a BMW SUV (SAV) - could have been a lot worse than that. Here's to a BMW Cheers |

A. No one spanked you for writing that post. It was simply pointed out that no one was trying to humiliate anyone. B. People responded to you because of your humiliation comment. The gentleman above was talking about not knowing about the 50i. His comment mentions nothing that validates your presumption that anyone is trying to humiliate anyone else. He was pointing out that he was disappointed in the power of his vehicle and wishes he got the more powerful option. |

Yeah, I understand I should have refrained wording it that way (regarding word "humiliate"). I really meant that it should be good to support every forum member whether he has 50i or 35i or 35d etc. In e90 forum this was a real issue, that's why I wanted to kinda support OP since as I wrote in my original post - people often don't know (which wasn't the case for OP). Anyway I digress. I often don't have a politically correct way of wording (English is not my first language) and often my intentions are misunderstood. I'm trying to not get involved in discussions, but since I'm a BMW fan in general I can't help myself In any case I understand why people responded that way and it's fine with me |

Well, cheers to that. And fair enough. Personally, I just didn't want anyone to think I was trying to humiliate anyone. That's the exact opposite of who I am. I was asking a question, because I was curious. But I am all on board with showing support. Cheers to you. |
