My car is leased. Not sure it is advised to do modification on chassis for leased car. but I' like it this way better.

It does make the car sound more aggressive and since the passenger side isn't closed under low revs like the oem one it makes the car look a little better on cold days

The ones I ordered was PN 18302349212, and the ones in the bundle are the Msport tips (note the trapezoid is upside down).
Also, the bumper (valence) piece is the same as the 50i valence of the corresponding lines, instead of the Msport valence.

I was able to get my local bmw dealer to match the online price and they charged $220 for installation. Hope this helps.
Do I need to buy tips and valence or it is all in a bundle PN 18302349212? Thank you

I think they were bundled. At least that's what my dealer told me.

I can't remember the exact price but that sounds about right. Don't forget to get the exhaust system just let them know that instead of the $500 tips you will need the ones for your lux line, otherwise I think they will order the wrong ones...

Do you know if this bundle PN 18302349212 works for Xdrive35i with no line model as well? Do I need to swap out any other parts to fit the 50i type rectangular exhaust tips?

I think it should work, but double check before you order.

Yes, it will work with no-line model. But, you will need the M Performance muffler or my soon to be released muffler in order to use that tips.

It is in production. I have about 10 sets in build right now. I should have them by end of June. I am trying to have at least 1 done for pictures.

Alan
Alan, here is my thread on the muffler.
I uses M Performance muffler tip as I like the OEM looks.
I tried to get the tip blacked out via Powder, but it didn't held up as I wanted it to be.
I may try black chrome, but the price is much higher.

MPE Tailpipe for non M-Sports?

If you look on ECS Tuning's website http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...212/ES2728628/ it looks like the tailpipe kit comes with the necessary bumper piece. Presumably, the metal insert in the middle of the bumper is reused from the original.

That being said, to do the M Performance Exhaust (MPE) on an F15 without M Sport, you'd need 18302344205 for the M Perfromance muffler system and 18302349212 for the exhaust tips and the correct bumper piece to enable their installation.

Sound right?

If BMW wants to sell these, they should make it so that you can check a box on the accessories page when doing your build.

Performance/free(er) flowing exhaust, sure. Muffler delete, especially on an X5? Umm, that would be NO, IMO.
I have not heard an X5 that didn't have a muffler, but of the cars I have heard, it's just too damn loud. Track and super aggressive looking cars (you know, the ones with raised white lettering on the tires ) play the part better, but still wayyyy to loud for my tastes.
Totally out of place on an X5. Again, IMO of course.

anyone know why there are two types of 50i tips even though they are the same tip/valence combo? see the picture for the areas that are different in each set of tips. my guess is one of them is the control valve sensor, but as i understand it the MPE does not have any valves, correct?

does any one know the difference between these two tips? do they work the same with the MPE? does it matter which ones i get?

The tip for 35i came with the module to bypass the motor that came with the original muffler.

Has anyone done a complete rear bumper replacement (of course w/ M exhaust tips) to match Msport package. I'm picking up my 2016 X5 on this Tue with Lux line but I like the looks of M sport rear bumper (all same color vs lux. line has a black w/ silver valence.

I ordered a Mineral white..

Here's what I think I'd need to accomplish this

1) M rear Bumper

2) Tailpipe Tip

I'd have to have either a bodyshop or dealer paint the primered bumper..

Did I get this right?
