That’s great!! Are you at 380-400hp maybe?
I’m thinking of buying a z4 35i in spring, the gains you can achieve whit these engines are pretty amazing!

If the n55 35i engine has 320hp stock due to them under rating (306hp on paper) then yes with the JB3 Stage 1 you will get 380 at the crank without question.

I think it’s the Wagner intercooler you guys have in NA.
The 30d/35d seems to boost max 1.5 bar (21.7557 psi) so whit this intercooler everything over approximately 1 bar will give a HP gain and it should be especially good whit added fuel from RC, any thoughts?
Thoughts:

1. I like that it's 85% larger surface area
2. I like the price
3. I like the cast aluminum end tanks
4. I don't like that it's 38% larger volume (think turbo lag to fill that extra volume)
5. I don't like there isn't test data in terms of temp drop - after all who cares how big it is if it cannot cool the charge air in relation to is surface area/volume

Does it fit the F15?

Based on the part number. The 35d uses the same intercooler as the 35i.
And I asked my friend at Evolution Racewerks to make me one, but then he said that the X5 intercooler is bigger than the 1/2/3/4/5/6 series intercooler. So, there is no point of changing the intercooler other than just to improve the looks.

Yes It's bolt on and will fit whit stock connectors etc, yes the bigger volume will for shure increase lag, the temp drop etc will be needing some more investigation, the turbo lag is bad as it is now whit stock IC.....

That's very interesting information! Thanks. if it's not a option to sett the boost higher...witch it isn't bigger IC is pointless. Just remembered that the 30d has a smaller IC than the 35d so for us Euro driver's it maybe could be worth uppgrading to the 35d ic, the same one bmw are peddling here as a performance unit it's quite cheap about 300$ bolt on whit intact warranty

No rattling and strange smells, this is because the filter is finished with regenerating. When looking at various European forums (not only BMW), this is typical observations when the DPF regenerates.

http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice...e-filters.html
Regeneration is either passive or active
Passive regeneration
Passive regeneration takes place automatically on motorway or fast A-road runs when the exhaust temperature is high. Because many cars don't get this sort of use vehicle manufacturers have had to design-in 'active' regeneration where the engine management computer (ECU) takes control of the process.

Active regeneration
When the soot loading in the filter reaches a set limit (about 45%) the vehicle's ECU will initiate post combustion fuel injection to increase the exhaust temperature and trigger regeneration. If the journey is too short while the regeneration is in progress, it may not complete and the warning light will come on to show that the filter is partially blocked.

It should be possible to complete a regeneration cycle and clear the warning light by driving for 10 minutes or so at speeds greater than 40mph.

Based on the looks, it should be do-able.
I am still waiting for the new parts number to be released.

I think due to the more inexpensive options there hasn't been any real incentive to get a Dinan tune on the 35i.

Just an update for everyone. The RaceChip screws on the back use a Torx T10 screwdriver. I confirmed it and bought this solidly build/cheap tool set: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It's not very big at all, so very handy/easy to store.

@r33_RGSport

I noticed you did not mod your F15 with a RacingChip. I assume you are still running with the JB4. I would love to hear your Thoughts? I dd not see the JB4 on your site either.....

Yea, I uses JB4 instead of the RaceChip since the JB4 has control on the fuelrail and the wastegate control.
I do have the JB4 listed on my website, it is the same as the one for F10 5 series.
Also, I can just turn it off instead of removing them on regular dealer visit like I just did.
RaceChip is about the same as BMS Stage 1. They both is easy to install and remove on the N55 motor, only 2 plugs.
The difference is RaceChip uses dial to change the settings, while the BMS stage 1 for N55 is by the software interface and you will need the sold separately USB cable and a laptop.
Also, if you understand which variable to change, it can become a little confusing.
While on the N63tu setup, both RaceChip and BMS have built in dial to change the setting.
The difference, RaceChip is in one box and harder to remove and install.
The BMS is consist of 2 small box, so you need to open up both boxes to change the dial. But, it only take minute to install and remove.

Thanks for the reply. So if understand things correctly. There is a Stage 1 from BMS and also the Stage 2 JB4. The RaceChip is harder to remove (I believe mainly on the X5 x50i, not the x35i). Both the Stage 1 and the RaceChip are usually removed before a visit to the service center (of course), but the JB4 is not? How do you compare the performance (including smoothness of the engine) across the options? The consensus here seems to be the RaceChip. Which tune do you install/sell most at your shop?

Correct, the RaceChip Ultimate is harder to install and remove on the 50i N63/N63tu motor only, due to the location of the sensor.
For regular service (non engine related), you can leave them on as long as you know that your SA is mod friendly. I also remove the JB4 if I have something related to the engine issue.
Performance wise, BMS Stage 1 and RaceChip is neck to neck on the 35i. The only advantage, BMS is lesser damage on your wallet. While the RaceChip advantage is simple to adjust when you want to increase the setting, just 6 screws away. BMS require you to have a laptop and their proprietary USB cable, also a knowledge on which variable to change.
For smoothness, I take JB4 all day since it have access to the car CAN-bus and more sensor to monitor for better control on the engine.
As far as which one I sold the most, of course the BMS since they are known in the BMW community since N54 motor. RaceChip just recently have exposure after they revised the mapping.
Come by when you have time and I'll let you take them for the spin.

Hey. Thanks much for the info. I think the Stage 1 might be the choice for me. I don't mind the need for a laptop/cable.
