First Impression? This is all the car you could ever want. I don't know what you lot are going on about with the steering, it's great. I have come from a E70 LCi 40D with a tune, and this 50i monsters it in every way. I now "only" have 20' 469M instead of the 21' 239, and the ride is great. I have third row so don't get the full monty suspension, but it's very much more compliant without being soft. Road noise is down, the V8 is audible enough (for now) and I was surprised I made it home on a 600KM trip on one tank. The adaptive LED lights are great, the radar cruise is great, the multi contour seats are heaps better than the "sport" seats in the 40D. I still prefer the third stalk for the cruise, but I'll get over it. The digital dash is better than I thought it would be - I wouldn't have optioned it if I had choice but we get a lot of kit standard on a 50i in Australia. I have only optioned Msport and third row (NCO with Msport). Old and new together in the photo.

Nice review. And the 239s were some of my favorite wheels for the E70.

Congrats on the new purchase. Always surprises me to see an X5 without the rear privacy glass.

It's going for tint to a local shop soon. Middle of winter for me so no issue yet. We get weeks of 40 deg c in summer, so tint a must. $450 locally, $800 from BMW....

^^^ I'd still prefer privacy glass from factory over a film added after the fact, which can bubble, scratch, and possibly dis-colour over time.

You're doing it wrong if it bubbles etc. Have a look at my 5 year old e70. Perfect tint. The same guy is doing the new car as well.
