Has anyone used this?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0070S...ack+out+chrome

I have a black x5 so thinking the gloss black will be a little too dark.

G2 or VHT are good products as well, readily available in the US.

Is that a 50d? If so, how come no front vent blades?!

The Foliatec is excellent. I applied it to my tips at one day old with no prep to the exhaust's at all (as per the manufacturers video) and they are perfect. Even 5 months on no sign of wear or chiupping. Great product.

that will work fine but it's a matte finish, not glossy.

I would also get this https://www.amazon.com/VHT-SP124-Eng...B4B1PEM3R&th=1

Gloss Clear coat to go over the black paint once it dries for the super glossy affect.

Here is mine after 3 or 4 coats of the gloss black and 3 coats of the clear.
Make sure to spray evenly and with quicker movements.. If you spray with slow movements then you will get crazy runs. Also make sure to let it dry 10 minutes per coat for both black and clear.

Kzang, did you take the tips off? If so, how did you do it?

Yes, I removed them to prep it. They are M Performance exhaust so the tips are removable. Stock exhausts are not, however you can wrap your car with newspaper and try it with the exhaust on.

Thanks, Kzang. I saw the other threads on masking the car for non-removable tips but I'm worried that the finish won't be even on the whole tip...I'm a bit OCD. Though I also don't want to remove the bumper because it seems like too much work.

I hear you... I would be the same way. Maybe if you plan to get MPE in the future then that might be an opportunity to paint them.

I think there was mention by Ben from RG Sport that it might be possible to tap the chrome finisher piece off the exhaust from the back side using a soft mallet. I'm not sure if anyone has actually done it, but that might be an option. Supposedly the chrome portion isn't welded on.

That's only for the standard exhaust (round) tips. Not for the Msport tips
