Opening Power Liftgate

I just got my 2014 X5 xDrive35d and have a question about the rear hatch liftgate. I did a search and couldn't find anything on this so please excuse me if this has already been asked/answered.

I found that the control on the door for the liftgate only closes it. Is there any way to open it other than with the fob or the button on hatch itself? I guess I expected a button near the left foot like my 5-series that would open it.

Does it not also include hands-free option?

Thanks for your help.

Press the button on the drivers door and the tailgate should open if the vehicle is stationary, provided that the tailgate has not been locked. So if it's not working, check to make sure the doors are unlocked and then push the button again.

I am not aware of any hands free options.

Ah, it was that the doors were not all unlocked. Thanks for the info.

You can open and close trunk three ways
- Rockerswitch
- keyFOB
- Button near plate
There is no smart open & close like the G030
