I actually collected mine on Saturday (sorry, been manic at home and work so haven't even taken any decent photos). I'll probably now wait until after it is detailed. First impressions of the M50d are centered around concern for my licence and the awesome acceleration when the second (or is it the third) turbo spools in Coming from a e53 30d meant that almost anything would be swifter but this is something else. When not overtaking for the hell of it in Sport, I actually prefer pootling around in Eco Pro as it also does a good job as a wafter. Last edited by markrw68; 03-21-2017 at 03:58 AM.. Congratulations on an exceedingly nice motor Looking forward to seeing more photos once its detailed.
This morning I purchased my insurance through Hastings Direct at a price of £605 which included upgraded personal accident insurance and upgraded courtesy car and additional key cover for the household. This is based on £200 VE and £345 CE. What I didn't realise was that my wife's car was also insured with them so was able to benefit the multi car offer so the starting price was £523 I also had the same issue last night whilst trying to purchase it on line with the registration number (as it's not registered with the DVLA yet), but calling them this morning, was not a problem in purchasing. I really wanted to buy the insurance sooner rather than later (car collection next Wednesday) as I did not think I could of got the price any lower bearing in mind I was getting quotes of over £1k. Next on the list is GAP insurance! Enjoy the drive!

Bought my GAP yesterday.
3 years replacement for new, up to 50k above insurance payout, for £232 (incl 10% discount as Insurer is a forum sponsor of the BMW 1/2 Series forum I've been a member of for past 6 years), and as it happens I'd bought GAP insurance for my Saab Aero off them when they traded under a different name nearly 15 years ago!) I think I might up that to 4 years cover though next week for the sake of a few extra quid. I'm just waiting to hear if I can pick mine up tomorrow morning.

Congrats on collecting the car. Its interesting how we are all receiving them with different tyres. I noticed you have continentals, mine came on dunlops and my detailer worked on a new M50d on the weekend that was on pirellis.
