From my observations, It took somewhere around 50 miles for the tune to settle in. I noticed a little bit of gain after the install but once I drove it for an afternoon I really noticed a vast improvement. As I have mentioned previously, the 50i engine desperately needs a better high flow air intake.
As for increasing MPG... I have not seen an increase at all. But I also drive in "Sport Mode" 99% of the time. The tune is well worth the price. Quote:

topaz330 , I agree with bluelodge400 , it takes time to fully optimized.
So, it is best to run baseline first, then install and drive for 50 miles and dyno again, this way you will have the best power gain reading. Also, as far as MPG, if you can resist yourself from driving aggressively after the tune, you will see a gain a little bit. I don't think anyone tuning the car looking for MPG more than the HP.

MPG wasnt very good in the first place.... now its removed from my 50i vocabulary.
(BMS TUNE) increased by two notches but just the other day i tried a launch control....now im looking to find a 4 wheel drive dyno because i need proof that my ass dyno isnt crazy... easily feels like 550HP/TQ in this beast of a machine... clocked the 0-60 at 4.3(watched the video over and over and over.) and cried..... the car no longer works in manual mode, because the power causes the engine to bog down and decrease power to the wheels. like torque converter/trasmission slipping. but is sport+ and stick in S its an animal

IMO, move it to the 12 o'clock position and drive around with it for a few hundred miles(this tune needs a minimum of 50 to 100 miles before you will notice anything).
If you are still not satisfied, try moving it to the 1 o'clock but make sure you are running 91/93 octane. I would not suggest moving it any further than the 1 o'clock position. |
