If you are talking about the quarantine delay there is a stink bug outbreak near Savannah Georgia. BMW has reached a permanent solution and hope it won't affect more Australia shipment from now on.

Have you signed the letter to give up your right to terminate? I guess it will be up to the dealer if they are willing to swap. You may end up losing some money. End of April is just around the corner mate

Thanks for letting me know the reason for the delay.

I know it's not far off but I'm impatient, could really do with the car sooner rather than later, perhaps I'll see if I can borrow a car from them for a few weeks

Yes, it is a genuine BMW tow bar - manual detachable. See my other thread

As for the electric towbar, I will PM your the price I got quoted. Definitely less than $7.5k!

Hi guys, another Aussie X5 owner here. I have had E53 and E70 X5 previously and just ordered a F15 xDrive40d, carbon black metallic with a few options. Expecting delivery in Oct. Will post up pics when pick it up.

I would think so, as long as it is roadworthy and complies with ADR etc.

Would be interested to know aftermarket exhaust for diesel engine!

Anybody in Aus used somebody local for coding that they would recommend? I don't have the brainpower and time to figure it out for myself... (read: lazy)

Try Active Motorwerke at Burwood, they offer coding for all BMWs at a very competitive price. Heaps better than Southern BM!

I do generally like the team there. They quoted me $30 per code, what sort of quote did you get from them?

The problem with them (this was about a year ago) was that their coding software wasn't up-to-date and so they couldn't do a lot of the codes which I wanted. Even with me providing the guy with the cheatsheet, he didn't seem very familiar with what he was doing which was not confidence inspriring...

+1.
I drove my 1M coupe down there from Sydney to get some mods done, well worth the drive trip.

Had a call from my dealer yesterday, our X5 x40d just got off the truck for pre-delivery so I popped in for a quick snaps. We will take delivery next week.

G'Day Aussies, new to Beemer, I liked the M50D for the power numbers so we had a look. missus drove it and said she must have it. We traded a blown V8 Touareg for a black triple turbo with most of the bells and whistle. love it. Has anyone in Sydney tuned one of these up, would love to know the results. We don't like to keep our cars stock got too long.

I too came out of a 2006, V8 Touareg. (Purchased for off road work). The Touareg has nothing on a M50d X5, in terms of performance. Like a tractor too a Ferrarri!

In my view, you don't need to chip the M50d, just make sure you order the M50d with the true factory E locker diff. (this is only available without the third row seats).

We settled for a 30d M sport F15 July 2015 as in the end for us its just a baby taxi. Enjoy the M50d, my father in law has had three and he loves them, won't by anything else. I get it every now and then and boy its quick for a large car.
