April Fools.
Car in the photo is a 3 series not produced at that plant. I am on mobile and can't see it well but it also looks to have dealer marketing plates. |

Says damaged cars will be repaired using PDR?!?!?! If my car is on hold due to this issue, I would cancel and get a new order placed.

Plant Spartanburg hit again on 03.21.17. Baseball sized hail in the Greenville/Spartanburg area.

Would of been real pain if I had to wait a further two months for my car to be rebuilt.

Unfortunately it appears that Greer, SC was hit pretty hard. Plant Spartanburg is actually in Greer. |

This happened when I ordered an MZ4 Coupe in 2008. I found out about the damage after production had stopped, so I could not order another car. The VPC in California repaired the dents with PDR and painted a panel. I refused delivery. At that time, BMW wasn't very forthcoming with the info about eh damage. Had they been, I could have ordered another car.
Sad to see it keeps happening. They are making so many cars they can't keep them all covered and/or loaded onto covered rail cars fast enough.

Call your dealer and get status, but my guess is your car was covered/sheltered.

Jon maybe correct, but my best guess is it has been sitting in the lot to the right of the performance center (from front of building) waiting to be delivered. Unfortunately if that was the case it is was in an uncovered lot. |

I was in the same situation last year. My X5 had been finished and was awaiting Performance Center Delivery when a hailstorm hit, damaging 1400 vehicles. When my dealer inquired as to its status, we found that it was not one of the 1400 damaged vehicles. I was told that PCD cars were kept in covered storage. Whether that was true or I was being told what I wanted to hear, I can't say, but I have no reason to disbelieve them.
As for the cars that were damaged, BMW told customers whose vehicles were damaged that based on the severity of the damage, they had the option to have paintless dent removal repair the vehicle and receive a discount, or they could opt to have BMW build them a new vehicle, or they could cancel their order altogether. |

My CA checked this morning and was told he would have been contacted by now if there was a problem. I signed the lease tonight and I'm on my way to Greenville on Sunday!

For anyone that believes that their order maybe affected by this most recent storm should have your BMW Center run a vehicle inquiry report. Any damage will be noted within the report and any well advised CA will know where to look for the specifics pertaining to a damage discloser. |
