Adaptive M Suspension with 20" Wheels
Hi Guys I just picked up a 2016 M-Sport with Adaptive M Suspension and the handling is fealing a little weak with the 19s
I am thinking about upgrading to 20's but was wondering how the ride quality would change. I like the current feel over chopppy roads with the Adaptive M.... the car pretty much floats over and imperfections. |

I don't think handling will get better with 20" wheels. Not by much anyways. If anything I want 19" for these horrific NYC roads.

Do you have all seasons with the 19s? 20s and summer rubber would feel a bit stiffer and probably give you a harder edge when cornering. In what aspect do you not feel like the x5 handles well?

20s with Extreme Contact DWS, this is what i have, just put the truck in sports plus(traction off) and drive it, unless the road is wet.

I have the same suspension and had exactly the same concern, but no worries. ride quality will not be effected at all with 20s. go for it
unfortunately the car will also still remain wobbly at high speeds regardless. cant help it but the car is damn too soft for a bmw with M package. miss the E70 stiffness * do not use runflats!!! they kill the ride no matter what car, what rim size and whatever road |

Don't know about choppy roads, but i drove on the belt and cross bronx recently and was perfect. very smooth and almost no road noise which is always great.
If you want to get them swap out, there's a place in Bay Ridge(i think) where i got mine done. Thanks to another forum member who refer me.

Yes really, Dunlops RFT here and at 11K miles I get a Wah Wah Wah Wah at highway speeds. But I think this is true for most summer performance tires RFT or not.

I had Bridgestones before, and although I really liked them, I admit they were definitely had the "wah wah wah" on the highway. The P Zeros on the other hand, whisper quiet.

I've heard very good things about the Pzeros and I think P zero's are the RFT to shoot for if anyone wants to replace OEM.

Another vote for the go flat Conti DWS06. I switched to them about 3 months ago when I pulled off my Scorpion winters. I've been very happy with the ride, and performance in both wet and dry. The P-Zero RFT's were horrible in my opinion, didn't last, and were incredibly noisy (especially as they wore).
