Was this the case where the man ran into the car intentionally (suicide or drunk)?

I heard something on the news this morning about how a man ran into the car and that the driver wasn't going to be charged with anything at the time.

Wonder if they will have to total since it bent the roofline. Must
have been a big one. Being a new F15, maybe too much value
for a total ????

Well If that is the body. Than had to make a mess of the interior.
So that will be more cost on top of the body work damage the
thief caused. Poor BMW & owner, what the thief gets for stealing

That is an immense amount of damage for hitting a human body. I wonder how was the X5 was going. Feel sorry for the driver; that's going to give him some sleepless nights for sure.

I think modern cars are design to help save lives of pedestrian impact with the crumple zone design... apparently it didn't work in this case.

it looked like something hard hit the windshield at high speed rather than the human flesh. Not sure if the pedestrian emergency breaking of the X5 (if optioned) was working or not.

New Aluminium hood is 3000k Canadian + paint and labor. Head light housing...just the plastics not the bulbs and electronics is $3000 each lens. New front bumper $1790 + $440 for the reinforcement kit. I'd say that's a 20k to 25k to fix.

On a lighter note, that's one way to remove the kidney grills.

Wow. Car vs man is never a pretty sight no matter how you look at it.
The owner is probably on the forums, but I'm sure he/she is going through some heavy thoughts right now vs jumping on the computer to detail what happened to us all.

Agree. Maybe the driver ran off the road and into a pole after striking the pedestrian.
