Yep, take a look at Ford Mustang during the past five or so years. I believe they had over a hundred different combination of colors for the driver to choose from via the OBC.

No, my e92 335i has it. You're talking about the gentle orange glow on the inside right?

All E92/3s have the orange ambient lighting highlighting the side trim

My M5 had the white ambient lighting

It would be cool to have the ambient lighting hooked up to the HUD or current RPM or mode and have it color match the RPM and get more luminous/intense so as you go faster or go harder you can feel it

I know BMW has been working on haptic feedback to keep drivers alert but would be cool to feel the intensity in an M model

I really like the ambient lighting BMW offers for most of their models. I was slightly disappointed that my X6 didn't have the LED strips that line the doors, and when it was time to upgrade, the interior lighting was one of the reasons for me not to get anOther X6, even though I walked into the dealership with the plan of picking up another one.

glad to see this in the new X5 as an option. That means the X6 well have it as an option when she gets a facelift in a couple years.

...if my car was blue, would be a nice touch to continue the same hue into the interior

otherwise I like the subtlety of the amber colour the have used regularly. My 2007 E92 has subtle amber light strips under the door molding (stock) and I think it ads a nice soft classy touch as you can not see the little leds directly

Yes, my friend has a 'stang and it's quite ludicrous how many colours. I dare say they have been referred to as P*&&% lights lol

Unhappy

Looks cool yeah...

... but it's just another way for BMW to charge a few more thousands for something you get for free on lower model cars ...

If anyone wonders why BMW is changing from a performance car company to a bloated luxury car company, just look to the forumites who think that making the inside of your car look like Tron is "classy".

Not for me, it looks very tacky but I will reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh. I did like the (free) ambient lighting I had in my VW and was amazed that bmw want to charge for a few led lamps. Coloured lighting? Hmm, it's a bit cheap and 'Vegas'....
