The vehicle that launched an entire segment set to enter its 3rd generation priced from $53,725.

See Full 2014 BMW X5 Details.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ June 24th, 2013
It isnt often that an automobile manufacturer gets to launch an entirely new vehicle segment, but thats exactly what BMW did in 1999 when it introduced the worlds first Sports Activity Vehicle the BMW X5. Two generations and some 1.3 million vehicles later, the BMW X5 is set to enter its third generation. As its predecessors have done before, the all-new 3rd generation X5 will again set new standards for luxury, versatility and because it is a BMW first and foremost driving dynamics.

The newly available rear-wheel drive 2014 X5 sDrive35i will start at $53,725 and the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35i is priced at $56,025. The 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35d price is $57,525 and the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive50i will start at $69,125. All prices include $925 destination and handling. Newly-standard equipment for the X5 includes, but is not limited to, BMWs Auto Start-Stop system, BMWs iDrive4.2 Navigation System with Touchpad, 10 years of BMW Assist eCall service, 10 years of BMW TeleService, BMW Apps, 40-20-40 split-folding rear seat, and now standard Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering.

The all-new BMW X5 will offer a new model and a first for the original Sports Activity Vehicle, the X5 sDrive35i, which marks the first time that an X5 model has been offered with rear-wheel drive. It, along with the X5 xDrive35i, will be powered by BMWs multi-award winning 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six. The V8-powered X5 xDrive50i will use BMWs latest 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8. It offers improvements in horsepower and torque, while at the same time improving efficiency. These models will arrive in US showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2013. Based on its popularity over the last several years, a new BMW Advanced Diesel model will join the line-up a few months later. The 2nd-generation X5 xDrive35d features a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder diesel engine. It will provide the abundant torque for which BMW Advanced diesels have become renowned while offering significant improvements in efficiency over its predecessor. All models will be equipped with BMWs latest 8-speed automatic transmission. As was true of its predecessors, the all-new BMW X5 will be produced exclusively at BMWs production facility in Spartanburg, SC.

For all information released so far on the BMW X5, see our Official Thread @ http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=846222

Such a big jump...
But it says navi now a standard option.
But still 3.5i's jump is almost $10k if compared to entry model today. X drive to X drive.

The 35i started at 47, so that's a 6k jump. However it now has more standard equipment like the NAV. A 2011 with tech, convenience, premium, cold weather packages may MSRP for about the same as the 2014.

Yeah, do that
Just dont complain later, when smoked by X5 diesel you'd be pulling to your gas station while he still has half the tank to use

The price of these things are getting outrageous. Starting at nearly 70K and by the time you option it out it will be closer to 80. I don't mind paying a premium for BMW but when you have japanese auto makers coming out with the same suv's with all the bells and whistles for 20-30K less its hard to swallow. Granted i'm sure they don't handle as well but lets be real here these aren't sports cars regardless.

I wonder what the next generation X5M and X6M is going to cost. 120K might not be that far off since the M6 is already there.

i will wait for order guides and online configurator before judging the price gap. let's be honest, who was actually getting an e70 x5 without premium / tech / convience anyway? my MSRP was around 62K with plenty of features on an xdrive 35i, i'm sure this will still be under 65.

Yikes. Let's see if the lease #'s are favorable. I'd shoot someone if the residuals are in the low 50s.

Forget to mention $5K jump in price?????? that new navi worth it? IDK

For comparison, the 2013 X5 xDrive35i started at $48,425. That means the price has increased by over $5,000 despite not including standard all-wheel drive or by $7,600 when comparing apples to apples with similar six-cylinder engines and power to all four wheels. The V8 model increased by $4,000 and the diesel, interestingly enough, dropped by $100.

Surprised with the price jump. If the rumored X7 is coming, it will be VERY expensive if this is the pricing on the X5.

The navigation is a very very clever (if not a little sleazy) sales trick by BMW. Considering that no one in their right mind would ever buy GPS in a car being that the alternatives are MUCH MUCH better and a boatload cheaper; they are now forcing this option onto the consumer. Now we are foced to pay that extra few thousand to get a crappy old archaic system in our car whether we want it or not.

And they get to save tens of thousands by streamlining their production line and reducing parts. Seems fair.

Wow, so once you get the V8 and Msports Optioned Vehicle this thing is going to be in Range Rover and Cayenne GTS Territory....not sure I'd want one anymore

If it was $10-15k less than those cars it would be an easy sell

You have the new NBT Nav system in your car?

I have both an iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III. Which of these two (or other?) have better overall integration than the Navigation in my car? Neither, from my experience.

Not a fan of over priced SUV(s). Besides, I hate what BMW has done to the new X5. Now the X4 got a future in my book.
