Your Mike Anderson is the exact salesman who laughed when I said I wanted $500 over invoice and that I knew I could get it elsewhere. He also added a snide comment about not selling cars for nothing... and yes, I did buy elsewhere. On top of that, they offered $2k less than CarMax for my trade and I ended up selling it on my own for $4500 more than their offer. In the end I'm happy but I think salesman can vary with customers, current stock, current incentives, etc. |
True but if you sold your trade for $4500 more then you were STILL short $2500 if you had traded to Carmax... Every deal IS different and the customer plays a big role, in my 13 years in the car biz, I made the most money on the people who came in and "told" me what I was going to do. It's like anything else, it's ALL in the approach, ya know?
