The X5m has slightly different pad shapes on the front. Found this out when I tried to use some carbotech pads for an m5. The calipers are the same, but the rotors are slightly bigger on the X5m and thus the pads are slightly wider. The length and thickness is the same but it is a little wider to cover the larger rotor. You could run m5 pads, but there will be about 3/4 inch of rotor that won't be swept (area closest to hub).
If you used F85 pads on them it wouldn't cover but it would cover completely going the other way around. the M5 rotors are only 5mm in radius wider (395 vs 405) which would be about .2" which isn't significant by any means. Which makes me curious! Lol
