I don’t know how it can be permanent if the points are only on your record a max of 36 months for most infractions. If that’s how your insurance company is, I’d shop around as soon as the points fall off. I’m usually maxed out on good driver points so don’t have bad feelings if I have 3 taken off once every 5-10 years.
