Sorry for all of the questions but I am learning lots through this forum. The instructional video in this first page is very good. Can someone validate the solution for what I am trying to accomplish:
1) Reduce risk of expensive maintenance caused by clogged intakes.
2) Increased torque.
3) No diesel smell.

Based on what I have read, I can accomplish this using:
a) EGR delete which can be done through coding (which then means I only have to deal with the normal exhaust.
b) oil bypass filter to clean soot that might come back from DPF.
c) ECU tune for more torque.

The removal of the DPF & SCR seems to be time intensive and redundant if one was to add a DOC Catalytic to deal with the smell. (I would argue that the DOC Cat might add the same risk due to clogs and forced regeneration.) DPF & SCR accomplish the same thing, except perhaps a pain filling DEF and ensuring DPF regeneration. Isn't this correct?

So, then the approximate cost of the solution is $500 for the oil bypass kit and a $850 for the tune. The reduced complications and substantially less time seem like the better option.
